MY comps been freezing up when I'm in party's . The screen gets all blocky and nothing works short of shutting down the comp. I'm not using windower or anything. I ran the benchmark and that said I was ok there. Any help qould be appreciated.
 
You reallly need to be more specific. Even the most minor detail can be the information needed to cure what is the problem.

Does you comp freeze up when you just join? or when you been fighting a while? Did it always do this? You changed anythign on your computer? What have you already tried to fix the problem, if anything?
 
It only happens once in a while but never when I'm soloing. It happens when I been in a party for a while most times. I have had it happen after joining a party within a few minutes. I ran a check in the files and everything comes up as ok. I haven't tried installing a new driver for my nvidea geforce 6100 . I haven't changed anything on my comp in a while and this has been going on since last summer but then it was 1 or 2 times a month now its getting worse. It happened to me at least 5 or 6 times this week.

Do you crash when you go to remove an effect like Stoneskin or something? This was happening to me for about a week. Kam is installing graphics and game again now.
 
My guess is video memory. I've had a few video cards go out those cards were having the same issues as what you're describing. Games will work for a while, but once a certain part of the memory is filled, you start to get a lot of tearing in polygons, textures stretching, and all sorts of weird things.

Some manufacturers (like BFG and eVga) offer lifetime warranties on their cards. I'd check into that and get that card RMA'd for a replacement.

This almost sounds like the issue I was complaining about a couple weeks ago. Can you play for a few hours just fine, and then a flurry of activity on your screen sends the FPS on a downward spiral?

In my case, if I stand at the whitegate AH for too long its like my system reverts to the days when Pentium II processor were king. I draw about 23 FPS at the AHs when there are quite a bit of people. When the problem occurs, I pull about 5 FPS. Very choppy indeed.

If this is the problem you are having, you are victim of crappy programming and there are likely no fixes. If this is not your problem, I apologize - its just a problem I'm trying to find out more info on.
 
Yeah it generally is a bad thing when memory that is allocated for something isnt reallocated to something else when it needs it.
 
Just did it to me soloing while lvling drk. Thanks for the input looks like I might be getting a new video card then. Thanks again /bow
 
Or could supply us with a more detailed description of the problem, because I'm still not sure if I understood what you meant in your description of the problem.
