So, over the weekend I went to restart my computer so I could do my weekly safe mode cleaning/defragging I like to do. As I hit restart, the compy wouldn't boot up. After doing some testing I've determined it's my old Graphics Card - GeForce 8600 GTS - that was to blame. It's shorted or something, dunno for sure but it doesn't work in my computer or any other and using a father's friend's card in my PC to test it booted up fine. Just to make sure we tested memory, hard drives, etc and it all worked fine so ya, upgrading.
But, before I spend the money I wanna just make sure that my motherboard will hand a new graphics card I wanna get, specifically a GeForce 9600 GT 512MB GDDR3 Video Card. I think it should be fine, but my dad seems to think you need to have your DDR memory on graphics card match your computer's and my computer uses DDR2. I'm fairly sure it doesn't matter but I just wanna make sure by asking others.
Oh ya, for my motherboard, it's a Foxconn C51XEM2AA. So ya, fairly old motherboard but not THAT old so I just wanna make sure if I upgrade to this GeForce 9600 GT card it'll be fine and money not wasted XD
