Cone form attack

Does anyone know what this is and what it means?
 
It's a term more likely seen in AD&D, and it means the attack goes in one direction, and its area of effect becomes larger as it gets further from its point of origin, until it reaches its maximum distance. Well, that goes for the technical part.

In FFXI, you might know them as:

- breath attacks
- fan-shaped AoE
- frontal AoE
- directional AoE

Yes, iirc the Raptors in Bibiki have a frontal cone attack. I forget what it was, but when I tanked them I always had to turn the raptor away from everybody else so I was the only one hit with it.

Raptors in Bibiki? o.o If you mean Efts, yeah they have a frontal stun attack (Numbing Noise?)

MysteryTour has a good layout on what each type of enemy attack is, though it's not 100% accurate (i.e. it doesn't mention Pugil's Intimidate being a gaze attack). The site also mentions enemy traits, though (i.e. resist charms), which are incredibly useful all the same.

Maybe I'm mistaken. Whats the place on the other side of Kuftal? (Remember I'm a slow galka...)

The raptors in C.T. and VoS do cone form attack that does Disease. Just FYI.
