{Congratulations!} to Bastok...

It's got HONOR, which is huge to me because there isn't any honor left in America. That which does exist is regarded as wrong or "square" or "gay".

Thank you for that. As someone else who actually read the back-history provided about the nations, that's what sold me on San d'Oria too.

That and the fact that the Elvaan are basically better-looking Medieval Klingons :P

Bastok technically has honor too. They had San d'Oria by the balls and decided instead to end the war peacefully.

sandy killed their brethern<sp> in tavanzia by giving the beastmen some bigass lazer gun... so much for loyalty

we gave them no laser gun :\ the lightbringer sword was drawn by the prince of that damn region. He drew it himself which caused the destruction :\

Only reason he had to draw the sword was because the king of sandy sold out Tavnazia, where's the honor now?

Well, not to needlessly point out the elephant standing in the corner, but . . .

Slave labor, anyone? Pacts with the Yagudo, anyone?

Don't get me wrong. Every nation has their own dirty little secrets, San d'Oria included, but what drew me to Sandy in the first place were the Knights. Without looking any further in(which would have been impossible for me with only the game manual to draw from), that implied some form of Knightly(Arthurian) code, a culture that esteemed integrity, honor, and justice. Those are all pretty strong selling points to me, both from an RPG perspective as well as in day-to-day life.

Most Bastokans now have all (or almost all) outpost warps, so Conquest don't even matter now.

Heh, and I as a Windurstian have all my OP warps as well, including Kolshushu, Zulkheim, Gusta, Ronfaure, and it's nice to see Windy in first anyways. But Bastok does have a lot of the eqpment with the non nation areas effect, so them being in last really doesn't affect much. I'd switch to Bastok for that republican gold medal, but I'd rather not lose all the OP's.

Can't get Gold Medal unless Bastok's first though. I really want that thing, but I needto finish Windurst 8-1 and crap and get along towards rank 10 so I can bail to Smokestack City...been stuck on it nearly a year....

And hey, <3 Yagudo. You'd hafto be an idiot not to try and make friends with a group holding a person with Meticulous as a title.. XD

After having played through all of the story lines, I'd have to say I found sandy's to be the most boring, but I found Windy's to be the most interesting. Also, the mechanics of Bastok's missions are better than the mechanics of Sandy and Windy. San d'Oria requires you to wait real-life days in between a couple missions, while Windy requires you to go spend time farming up rare/ex items so you can do one of the missions; Bastok doesn't require any of that. Oh, and about our alleged slavery:

Bastok has both the better city-related theme music, and political theme music. Bastok and Metalworks > San d'Oria/Chateau and Windurst/Heaven's Tower.

Heaven's Tower just sounds like a reiteration of the Zeal theme from Chrono Trigger, so it doesn't even count as real background music.

Yes, there's background music. You can even buy a soundtrack to the game with all of the background music in it. I believe there's also soundtracks for the expansions too.

he didn't sell out Tavnazia exactly. He just refused to send aid D: (not that he could seeing as San d'Oria's own army was busy with beastmen)

I dont know, Windy is just too spaced out. I mean it takes like 20 min to get where I want to go in Windy; and whenever I'm in Bastok I just feel like a mexican. The place just looks like a barren deserted ghost town out of a old western. So ruling out the two ugly cities, I chose Sandy mainly because the scenery (AND BACKGROUND MUSIC) is better.

Wow . . . I thought my LS was the only lunatics having conversations like that Bajaratt :P

LSMemberA: "Listen, [Galka]. Take your [pickaxe] and get [back] in that [hole].
LSMemberB: "[Ummm...] I'm a [Hume]."
LSMemberA: "My [mistake]"
LSMemberA: "Listen [Hume]. Tell your [Galka] to take his [pickaxe] and get [back] in his [hole]."

Windy, even if you know where the warps are, you still have to run across long stretches of wooden planks. Dynamis-Windurst those warps don't exist. Sandy, you've got many tall stone walls in your way you gotta run around & that block your view. The Mog Houses in both Sandy & in some parts of Windy are a pain to get to or from in many instances. Most of Bastok is open & has very few small areas you might have to run around on your way. Negatives of Bastok's design:

- Drawbridge kicking you back if the airship comes in while crossing.
- Elevators that piss you off trying to get on one...

Other then these 2 items... Bastok has the best layout (although not the best decor). Being Bastokan I'm displeased that I have to wait for Bastok to be in 1st again to spend my CP to get the Aketon since I've already gained Rank 10 recently. Having my signet last a lot longer is nice though....at rank 10 you get double CP so combined this helps generate more profit for a Bastokan selling CP items. Oh yes! I forgot to mention that Bastok has a nice access to Altepa via Korroloka Tunnel in the mines. Korroloka is a straight run, however in Sandy's case you got Ronguemont Pass (spell-check plz) which for me w/o having a map I despise & I bet most Tele-Vahzl anyway. Windy has what connecting passage again?

Toraimarai Canal and Full Moon Fountain
That's not a connecting passage to anything, that's just the path to a dungeon and a burning circle.
