Conquest Quandary (Ranger question)

I've been having this debate in my head recently and decided to seek out some first hand opinions.

In a couple levels I will be acquiring that legendary Ranger destruction known as Sidewinder/Slug Shot. This notoriously inaccurate weaponskill is generally compensated for through use of the Patriarch Protector's Arrow conqeust item, which has up until recently been my motivation.

Lately, however, I've wanned in my desire to get this. Why? Simple. As it inches closer and closer to the 8 figure mark on my server, I've come to the depressing realization that I'm just never going to own Euryto's Bow. The War Bow +1 is my bow for the next 20 levels (Shigeto Bow +1 being the next/final bow for me) and I'm wondering if this is enough.

I've contemplated packing away the War Bow and refocusing my efforts on the Crossbow series of weapons for my non-Gun fighting (and also, I'm wondering how many Rangers out here actually stick with their gun 100% of the time vs how many use it stricktly for chaining purposes?). The Othinus Bow is where I've targetting my complete switch from bow -> crossbow, but that is more than 15 levels away from my current reality. I can't decide if it's worth it to go with the War Bow + PPA until then and suffer not having the GMB when the time comes to get the big O, or if I should go XBow now and just idly wonder about how much/frequent damage I would be doing with the War Bow + PPA.

There's a considerable difference in Ranged Accuracy capability in switching to the Crossbow, and that concerns me as well. Try as I might, I do still miss the occasional Piercing Arrow (maybe 2-5 per exp session) and I can't imagine how many more Sidewinders I will be missing without the enormous boost from the PPA.

So what do I do?

Any guidance from the Ranger seniors would be greatly appreciated.

War Bow +1 & PPA will be just fine (You'll still be doing noticably more damage than any other melee job with that Bow & Elemental / Demon arrows). If you want to increase your damage, you can use the Musketeer Gun +1/2 until 67. At 67, I highly recommend you switch to Othinus' & Acid/Darksteel for maximum damage over time.

Dont worry too much about the lack of Ranged Accuracy+ on the Obow/Ammo, you won't notice it's missing from my experience.

Ebow isn't required. A friend of mine (Moraine) bought it, and switched back to Obow. He said he does more damage with Acid/Darksteel than he did with Ebow & Demon Arrows.

In the end its up to you, but I hope this helps.

The Musk+1 is in my immediate budget as it is, so that's cool. I'm just worried about missing the WS's at 55 with it since there isn't much Rng Acc to speak of with the gun and nothing from its ammo.

Should I use the War +1 and PPA for all my Sidewinders till 67 and just use the gun for non-ws carnage?

Just a note, but I hear lvl 55 rng/nin can solo the shadow that drops the e-bow. With sleep arrows or sleep bolts, of course. Not that I know first hand, I'm only a lvl 20 rng/nin.

I lost 3 Patriarch Arrows when I was Ranger... so don't be dissapointed when you lose one.

2 PPA's and 2 GM bolts gone.... waiste of 160k conquest points....
It just sucks when Unlimited Shot fails to activate.....

And I also have to agree that during exp sessions Obow with Acid/Darksteel bolts will outdamage Ebow with Demon arrows by helping with DoT.

you can get a PPA to use with ur warbow +1 till 67 (when u get othinius) then when u switch to Obow u should have may more then enough to get a GMB bolt.. i shot my GMB bolt out last night... just because i ran out of darksteels and forgot to un quiver one of the stacks, so i never changed back ammo ; ;
