Cor Rolls

It starting to tick me off when people ask for a roll that is useless. What I mean by useless I mean that there are better rolls I can give then the one they want.

Fighters Roll is a melees wet dream pretty much. (Who doesnt like double attack?) But, sadly, with no warrior in the party it fails like lolpup. (No offense to pups.) Seriously the buff without a war is extremely sucky.

I was in a decent party the other night but me and the NIN didnt get along very well. I started out with SAM roll and Hunters roll. I chose those because 1. there was a SAM in the party, and 2. I was testing to see if we had enough acc to hit what we were fighting, sea puks.

So a couple fights in he asked/demanded for Fighter's roll and I said no, that the buff from it is wasted inless a WAR is in the pt. He proceeded to tell me not to use Hunters and that I didnt know my job. After awhile I switched to Chaos roll because the acc was fine with out hunters.

But seriously most people dont know jack about what COR does or what any buffs it can do. The only know it can refresh and has a double attack roll. So inless you have COR leveled or know one really well, stop trying to force me to give you stupid ass rolls that are pointless when I can give you something better.

Most people don't understand that COR rolls are most effective only when the specific jobs are in the party. I'm sure if you explain that to your party members then they will understand.

Most people haven't taken the time to learn much about the three new jobs and the complexities of them. As Deci says, most people are open to learn about it if you explain it to them.

I love Corsair, DD with buffs is like icing on the cake for me. Plus you Corsairs are so damn cute in that pirate gear.

I'm guilty of this, having PT'd with maybe 4 COR since they came out. In fact, I'm pretty sure I asked you once on my NIN for Fighter's roll without a WAR in the PT. After explaining, you rolled something else (THF roll I think) and everyone lived happily ever after.

Sounds like the problem isn't as much people asking for bad rolls then people being unaware of their mechanics and/or being douchebags about telling you what to do 'cause of an overinflated sense of self worth and/or childhood issues.

I have only partied with a few CORs in my day. Mostly 55+ so they relly neglected rolls because of Slug Shot. I normally ask for Warrior and Rangers Rolls because i am with a WAR all the time. Just say to the fuck head "Dont tell me how to play my job, i wont say how to play yours."

Fighter's roll without a war in the party is still better than hunter's roll without a ranger in the party, especially when they're all eating sushi already. Even a 1% increase in double attack would have a bigger effect than the very minor increase in accuracy from hunter's roll with no rng unless people are horribly gimp.

It's not always a lack of understand of the job(hint: it wasn't this time), but sometimes it's wanting the most effective setup. The +5 accuracy or however little hunter's with no rng gives is a waste of time when sushi is involved; even thf roll would have been better. Just because you're the COR in the party doesn't mean you're the only one with understanding of the job.

You also refused to use chaos roll at first as well.

IMO THF/NIN with Fighters Roll and Thieves Roll is SOOOOOOO Broken.
Gogo Trip Attack and Double attack they can DD so nice.

The only way to not get into these situations...is to make your own party unfortunately. If I'm not the leader of a party, I will announce the rolls and my reasons for using the rolls in the party.

and yes, I have been in parties where it has been DEMANDED that I use fighter's roll (and in some cases, they have threatened my position in a party -.-).

Nowadays I'll try to form my own parties...I grow tired and frustrated with the stubborness of players who won't listen to me

Hypocrit you are.

Will no give War roll without a war,
BUT.
gives rng roll without rng, found you didn't need.
Gives Caos roll.... with no DRK in party.

Baj know exactly how Cor works.

umm

the activation of a Fighter's roll without a war is a waste of time(but hey, that's my opinion)
and it also depends on what the party needs. I'll use what I have in a party, to bring out the best of what I have

(also I tend not to use Chaos roll...cause it sucks with and without a Drk imo)

Considering that everyone was eating sushi at 68-69, accuracy was not an issue at all even by his own admission; so yes warrior roll would have helped more than the accuracy roll. His logic was that without the right job in the party, giving the roll was a waste of time, so using that exact same logic, the rng roll was a waste of time. I think the 6th member was a monk(I know nin, sam, cor, blm, whm was in the party), so even the subtle blow trait would have been more useful than the +accuracy. The fact that he changed to the drk roll with no drk in the party is contradicting his logic behind refusing to use the war roll.

The party needed something to boost damage, and +accuracy wasn't it. If we'd had a thf or a drk in the party, I would have asked for those rolls instead of warrior's right off the bat, but since we had none of the jobs that would actually improve our damage, I opted to go with the one that would have the biggest effect.

next time you invite a cor, just have them use the dice of whatever jobs are in the pt, its the easiest thing todo

I understand now, Baj. Kind of annoying when people immediately demand Fighter's roll right off the bat without taking anything into consideration of a current setup. But seeing as you did understand, then if nothing really could have benefited a party but to use Fighter's roll, then I don't see a problem.

well he did say he was testing the acc of the puks. I would assume it was first time, so that would be smart thing do. even so he could us cor roll or anouther job roll which is in the party and would help party more then the 1% DA.

We at sushi at 68-69, if you don't have high enough accuracy at those levels with sushi where you don't need an acc roll/song, then you're beyond gimp. Plus, he already said that I waited a few fights in before I asked him to use a different roll, because accuracy was not an issue. The effect of fighter's roll without a war in the party is not 1%, I was using that as the bare minimum it could be as an example of just how useful it is; and yes +1% double attack would be more beneficial than a corsair's roll unless your party is killing slow as hell.

From my own experience (static with nin drk war brd whm cor for quite a long time, till 60)

Warrior's > Rogue's > Hunter's > Chaos

We would replace rogue's with hunter's if we had trouble hitting after madrigal. Even with a drk we kinda avoided chaos roll once in the 50's if I remember right.

Yes, we had a warrior, but seriously, I think you're underestimating double attack. Even if the boost that warrior's roll gives is halved without one in the party, it'd still be worthwhile to use it above any other roll in my opinion.

would be sexy in a mnk pt with mnks that had crit capped/destroyers and brutal earrings to get rogue/war roll i think.. :_

I'm sure he was testing out his accuracy, not the party's. Most COR that I've seen are more worried about what melee buffs they need more than what melee buffs will help the party the most.

Just a question. If there is no one else to pull in the pt shouldnt a COR pull then?
That's what I think, somone once told me that would be like brd pulling so im not pulling...I was like wtf...brd pulls best in game...He jus Lol:d and refused to pull and said that brd doesnt pull
