Veresko said:Crafting really changed in the last year or so. Nowaday those that can turn out decent profit are those with multiple crafts. For exemple, if I were to make Holy Bolts, I can HQ the boltheads with my main and then HQ the bolts with my WW mule, same with arrows. That means for the same investment I'll get more bolts to sell compared to someone buying the boltheads from AH. Therefore I can either A) Not undercut and make more profit then most WW or B) Undercut, sell faster and make as much money as other WW eventho I sell cheaper. I understand your frustration but most crafter will opt for B) if they can.
As for leveling, except on really rare occasion, I've never turned out profit from leveling. You're lucky if you break even. I always saw leveling as an investment for the future. If I have 500K, I'll find the cheapest recipe that allow me to make as many synth as possible and just expect to spend that 500K but hope for X levels, which might push me over a HQ tier for another recipe. The reason is simple, chances are there are 4-5 other crafters using the same recipe you are. So you have competition for material (prices rising) and competition to sell your results (prices going down).
Don't get me wrong, I hate undercutter as much as the next guy, but given the chance to do so, everyone does.

My first GM call lol. Responded exactly the way I thought he would "I will look into it".

Rappa said:2) Deal. It's an Auction House for a reason. If someone's willing to take a hit to sell something, either wait for the price to go back up or take a bigger hit. It's a gamble, but I bet you aren't complaining when you're the one BUYING something that someone undercut.

Inflation/Deflations plays no part in this. When materials prices are increasing and product prices are decreasing any business person could tell you that makes for bad business. And to tell you the truth I wasn't on this server in '04 when inflations started, so I coudl really careless what happened then and neither were you so don't give me the whole "it was so much harder back in the day bullshit." And since when did leveling a craft become a service to everyone else. I mean if people want the gear they can talk to one of the other 50 million people on the server who have a craft leveled. If you're leveling a craft now, you're not doing it for the consumer you're doing it so that you can cut in on the profits you see them making (in my case I dont want to pay for arrows when I level RNG so I'll level WW to make my own). Next time think about what you're going to fucking say before you say you little cuntbag.

Veresko said:Leveling a craft is not a service to anyone, it's an investment. You are NOT going to make profit (enough to live on it anyway) LEVELING a craft. You level to get past HQ tiers on sought after recipes and then make gils on those.
I'm not trying to be a douche but leveling WW to make arrows for Ranger is the perfect exemple of not understanding how crafting will benefit you (and you're like the 100th to ty it, at least). You're going to spend countless hours and a lot of gils so you can spend even more hours making your own ammo to save a bit of gil. You'd be MUCH better off doing something more profitable and just buy the ammos. Look at my sig, I think I crafted my own ammo twice in my whole FFXI career. I'd rather make something more profitable and buy my ammo, rahter then spending one night trading countless bolts and flowers to a rude mithra.
Loosing money when leveling a craft is not bad business sense because you don't choose between a vast variety of things to do. Everyone picks the same 1-2 recipes for the cheap prices compared to the others. No one in their right mind is gonna level doing elemental staves for exemple. Demands and supplies, high material demand, high results supplies.
People aren't singling you out, just the way leveling a craft is, gotta deal with it.

Neo knows what's up. You need to build a special desk so that you can crawl up under it and take naps. How did you not already know this? :nono:Legomyeggo said:George does

We can't have AIM or any messengers here. Fookers are strict with it too. Otherwise you'd be secksing me up all day and I wouldn't get anything done. :bb:Legomyeggo said:Yeah you bet. Oh dude, PM your AIM or Yahoo name or something. I wanna secks you up at work.
