....Whoa...

(Keanu is totally a bad choice)

I dunno, maybe not. Spike is pretty disaffected and emotionless for the most part >>

I can't believe they hired Keanu Reeves for Spike. Spike is cool and aloof, not a whining emo little girl.

There is only one person capable of playing Spike. Elliot Gould (36 years ago). Don't believe me? Go watch The Long Goodbye (1973), his character in that is Spike Spiegel to a T. He's only missing the Jeet Kune Do.

I don't know, in my head, they look alike enough to make this work. He's also capable of pullin' off a very detached and "smart" act. Good call I say.

Keanu has the skinny part down :P Spike is damn skinny. He might actually be a good choice (outta the hollywood stock) for Spike, but we'll just have to see how it goes.

I've wanted Keanu to play Spike ever since I first saw the series in high school. My friends all said I was crazy, and then we read this a few weeks ago. I'm excited.

There's nothing wrong with Keanu, he has good range but he's primarily been typecast, which is why people attribute things about his characters that are intentional to weaknesses in his acting. Just watch Point Break, Bill and Ted and then the Matrix - all completely different performances. In reality, a lot of the more popular actors play a single character perfectly, because every character they play is exactly the same. Jack Nicholson, for example.

I think he's a very good choice for this film, so much so that I have more hope on this film than Dragonball Evolution. Plus, Reeves is actually a fan of Cowboy Bebop.

Hard Ball is a pretty good example of what Keanu can do as well.

When I heard this a few weeks ago, I was surprised for the Keanu Reeves choice, but I think it's a great fit.

Not only does he have the same build as Spike, but when he is on his game, he can definitely pull off the cool, smartass attitude that it the role would need. And he'd pull it off well.

I'm very excited to see how this progresses.

I just don't think Keanu's voice fits, not a bad choice. I vote he be the person but they dub him over with Stephen J. Blum

lol of course the voice won't match because it's a cartoon with voice actors, who most of the time, look nothing like the part they voice.

Keanu look's great for the part. He can play a smart ass slacker too. I think it's fine.

which is why I demand a dub over! :P

I think it was some great casting. They already look similar, are fairly emotionless and you know Keanu can handle the action scenes well. I think casting was spot on for this. I cant wait to see how this all shapes up.

I want to see who's playing the other characters.

While normally I'd want someone like Kate Beckinsale to play Faye... she's just too old for the part. My vote would have to be:

James Black for Jet:

As for Vicious... gotta be Clive Owen. They'd have to dye his hair but good, but I think he'd be perfect for the role.

Ed could be any unknown crazy enough to pull off the part.
