Hey, it's still profitable. If you can manage to kill manticore's in mass to effectively farm hairs.

A lot of things are profitable if you don't camp the AH. Problem is, people camp the AH for gil. As I said, that's their problem.

naw 50k a day on crafting isnt worth it, i dont see how neolink thinks that is making gil

That's what I've been trying to tell Pakomen and Psychowynn, but they hate the fact that they have to farm and we don't.

Three things happened to ruin crafting.

First was the gilsellers mass producing stuff 24/7. It was bad, but still manageable at that point.

Second was when more and more people were added to the ranks of HL crafters. Undercutting galore! At least with gilsellers, the undergutting wasn't too awefull, it just took longer to move product.

Thirdly were all the whiners. "I don't wanna farm!" "Stuff is too expensive!" "Crafters are price gouging" blah blah blah. So after listening to the pissin and moanin for years, SE made all kinds of stuff either R/E, or much MUCH easier to get. Combine that with the gilseller bannings, and the economy plumments.

Fortunately for me, I made an absolute KILLING during the gilbuying boom and subsequent price hikes that were Dec`05. Then again, my alchemy mule made a metric shitton of gil when the TOAU first came out (50k for a stack of silents? Woo-Hoo!!!). Combine that with the fact that I already had pretty much everything I needed/wanted and I never really had to 'work' again until the day I quit (Though that 19mil on the Juggy did sting a tad).

Seriously though, I used to spend HOURS hq'n lumber and later shihei to sell on a mule. My alchemy mule made a ton of silents as well. Now I look at the prices of shihei and silents and I just laugh.

The rest are right, 10k loss? I know it was a 650k/synth loss for me 99-100, and that was cheap compared to some.

I don't think that is what they are getting at though. They are just advising ways to increase a profit margin that already exists with just the crafting element. They aren't looking to make a craft profitable by supplying the materials through farming.

I don't farm really, I sell stuff I happen to get while xping or skilling up but that's about it. I make gil mostly from fishing and KSNMs and BCNMs.

Oh and I really wouldn't use "we" when referring to yourself and Arctyrael. You aren't exactly in the same category when it comes to gil I'm sure.
