I hope this makes sense.

Last night and part of today I decided to skill up my Cooking a bit after sitting at lvl 61 for so long and only making Yag drinks from gardening grapes and cherries.

I decided to try something with my SCH. Last night, on Watersday, I was skilling up on Melon pies and I would cast Firestorm on myself and I would get a skill up ever other synth.

Conversely, when I would cast Rainstorm on myself I would have a lower success rate. Then for good measure I didn't cast anything on myself and just equipped my Fire staff and got a skill up after about every 3-4 successful synthesis.

Now today I cast Firestorm on myself on Watersday like I did last night and I'm getting nothing after about 6 tries and no breaks.

Is this method pure coincidence and luck or does the weather play a factor?

Welcome to crafting. Its called luck

i casted windstorm on someone and got 1/1 mahatma legs

I just found it odd is all. I just wanted to know if it was true or not.

though the .... wasnt necessary. Thanks for the find.

I just always consider everything to have no effect on anything ever at any time.. ever.. any.

So if I would get a lucky HQ it was just that, luck, and I was free to go on in my blissful ignorant playtime.

you should be a pixie.:cool::biggrin:

yeah same reason why h2h skill has no effect nor barspelling yourself

I'm pretty positive crafting is just plain random. Just as often as you think you have a theory proved you debunk it by Hqing ont he first try on a random day with no skill/weather/direction boost. I look at t the same way I look at getting in the kirin room, the harder you try the more you fail.

Yeah I know what you mean. Kinda reminds me of the idiot that said that the elementals staves don't add damage to their corresponding spells. They are a scheme to sell them faster at high prices.:nono:

Hmm. I'd actually be willing to give this a real try out.

Like Buy materials for one specific craft.

Change weather accordingly on a new moon, apply particular staff/staves etc.
Just for Fun.

Have someone sit with a notepad in front of the AH and watch the crafts. The crafter would have to provide the level of craft so that at least the tier can be determined.

Just for kicks. Fully aware there has never been a link with weather and what not. Most say random/luck, but wouldn't it be nice to know that there is even a glim of possibility that it may have "some" effect on your crafting.

Again I'd be willing to try.

Well my Cooking skill at the time was lvl 61 and for some ingredients (Roasted Coffee Beans) I had to make, I would get HQ2 and an occasional HQ3 when I had Firestorm up during Watersday.

I'm aware of what's been proven but it would be nice is the actual weather played a part.

I gotta agree, all those levels of Goldsmithing and yeah it helped to have the same crystal for the same day but outside of that I never noticed anything else. Just completely random

Weather plays a factor. When I was leveling my alchemy, I went to Xarcabard for ice weather and got 3 HQs in a row making Tsuarararara. When I went back to Jeuno, I didn't make any.

My alchemy was at lv6 at the time.
