Let me preface this by saying, the Kote may not end up being mine.

With that being said, I've been working on a CRIT hit setup for dual wield (although it easily could be applied to 2-hand as well).

The goal of this set is to be able to eat meat to make up for the lack of attack+ pieces having been replaced with DEX+

TP:

WS:

While the goal on TP to hit 125 DEX seems a little out of reach due to elvaaness, I've easily hit it on ws. I still am above the first crit hit tier on tp however, which with only the loss of 3% haste allows me to not give up too too much on tp, and only give up on a little strength on ws.

I know Askar head would be a good addition to tp, looking for other suggestions or if anyone else has tried.

Thanks :D

What about Heca feet? You get the same +3 DEX as Aurum, but traid 5 acc and att for 6 STR. Or do you require that much accuracy during WS?

Cuchulan's mantle. you lose +12 atk but if you truly need the dex/acc that badly you get +4 dex and 7 acc. This would completely depend on if you break a tier with it.

I'm partying now with hedgehog, and most tp returns are 12 on mamools...13 is full return. When everything hits it's pretty beautiful, but it's still fairly inconsistent at this point.

The mantle may look like a good idea though.

Edit: 2-bard party too with one madrigal on as well.

If DEX and Acc are what you're after, depending on how much gil you want/have to spend, I'd say you're more likely to benefit from an Ancient torque than a Fortitude torque in that setup, using meat.

(Eyeballing of course).

needs moar spike necklace for dex jam!

Really not much more to point out. Like Arezael said "Ancient Torque" coupled with an askar head would give you 8 more at the loss of 1% Haste. And you could look at using Askar Hands again for another 2% haste. I always figured the sweeter deal would be to get as much possible haste WITH dex as you could. So I can't say using Hachiryu over Askar hands would be my choice.

As a hume though, I wouldn't necessarily have to use hachiryu hands. I think the last count I had -of my 'ideal yet realistic' setup- put me somewhere near 119 DEX in TP while holding onto 17% haste. But I'm strictly speaking from a Great Axe perspective. I won't feign to know anything about a Ridill setup or what may be necessary to perform well with it.

Yea, the torque would help the most with a meat set. I think replacing the DEX ring with sniper's (like I usually do) coupled with sushi would have a more consistent damage.

Hate to play the race card, but Elv really don't have enough base DEX for this to work viably in TP gear. As WAR/NIN, Mithra get 76 base DEX and 1 less if /SAM. You need 117-120 at Colibri and 130-140 on mamools (varies by different jobs, puks need less also) to cap out. Crit builds are really only used on Colibri because it's not as difficult to obtain 117 DEX. But for WS, I personally try to have a good balance of DEX/STR of around ~120 DEX (really heard without hecatomb).

I TP in DEX75+26, switching to Pixie Earring, Askar Hands, Ancient Torque and Ebody[if I had one], it would put me +42, for a total of 117 DEX at a sacrifice of 1% Haste, 7 skill, atk+10, acc+2 (not including ebody, because you'd use it for any build) vs DEX+16 ACC+8. With Brave Grip that would ruin birds.

Also, I wouldn't call it tiers, since that would imply you see gains plateau before they increase, which doesn't happen.

EDIT: with 1 handers, people typically eat sushi with DEX builds

Thanks...and yea I'm realizing the Elvaan part is making it rough to hit.

Cuchulain's Mantle, askar helm will give you -5 from goal

only thing i could come up with were Ancient Torque + Imperial Omelette.

then again you could always just tp in a dex ring (omg right?), get HQ berk, or break out the GA and spear strap.

loldex merits?

I know a fully insured and licensed doctor in Balharn Way, Whitegate who can turn you into a Mithra. The Boob job will be free.

Taking the collective ideas posted so far:

66 Dex base with 125 Dex target, leaving 59 Dex required:

75 War/Nin (Dual wielding)

Weapon 1: Perdu hanger (5 Accuracy 15 Attack)
Weapon 2: Ridill
Ranged: Lightning bow +1 3 Dex
Ammo: -
Head: Askar zucchetto 4 Dex (4% Haste)
Neck: Ancient torque 4 Dex (9 Accuracy)
Earring 1: Brutal earring (Double attack Store TP +1)
Earring 2: Suppanomimi (Dual wield Sword skill +5)
Body: Adaman hauberk 10 Dex (10 Str 15 Accuracy 15 Attack)
Hands: Askar manopolas 5 Dex (2% Haste)
Ring 1: Adriot ring 5 Dex
Ring 2: Raja's ring 5 Dex (5 Str)
Back: Cuchulain's mantle 4 Dex (4 Str 5 Accuracy)
Waist: Swift belt (4% Haste 3 Accuracy)
Legs: Byakko's haidate 15 Dex (5% Haste)
Feet: Aurum sabatons 3 Dex (2% Haste 5 Accuracy 5 Attack)

Food: Imperial omlette (Elvaan) 2 Dex (6 Str 22% Attack (85 cap @ 386 base))

*Bracketed stats are secondary concerns

Gives: 60 Dex 25 Str 42 Accuracy 120 Attack 17% Haste
Double attack +5 % Enhanced Dual wield (5% Delay red.) 5 Sword skill

The choices I made are primarily based on what you currently have, and what seems to be more easily obtainable (bazaar/AH buyable rather than Ex or Rare-Ex) without making too many sacrifices to Haste and general Accuracy.

Obviously this hasn't included your merits (I don't know what you have) or converted the Dex/Sword skill into the additional Accuracy they provide. The same applies to the Str/Sword skill into Attack. Job abilities that enhance Accuracy and Attack (Berserk, Aggressor) are also not factored.

Due to the tremendous amount of Accuracy 60 Dex provides, you'd benefit from swapping Swift to Speed/Velocious belt when you can, hitting 19% Haste in the process.

Hope it helps.

NB: I'm (supposed to be) working, hence the rushed post and the formatting is poor.

Ancient_Torque.jpg

Tough to get, but might outparse a sea torque for TP if you are looking for a DEX setup. Not the best for WS.

Kubira_Bead_Necklace.png

I use these. These are the best for WS for both 2h and dual wield, and not so hard to get either.

edit: how long does an imperial omelette last?

Do you not notice the lack of accuracy in WS though i have
16k einherjar points atm and can't decide between Iota ring or Kubira beads as my next item. Personally i never take PCC off and i'm concerned about missing a much higher % of WS hits with the beads, whereas Iota is basically a free Snipers ring (NQ) for any 2hander - and only a .5 acc loss for dual wielders.

Thanks Are...I still think the Kote with DEX+10 acc+5 might be a viable piece...although they're not guaranteed to be mine it all depends if one other person wants them.

As far as merits go that are applicable:
8 Sword (8GA 4A)
4zerk/4agg/2DA
5 STR
4 Crit (obviously)

I was 5 zerk / 5 agg for a long time until the 2-hand fix, at which point I dropped 1 each for DA (This is also after being capped DA before it was increased to 10 from 5 >.>)

Of course, it is the HQ of a level 89 synth, so don't expect too many of these to be floating around. Although the price of truffles has plummeted recently making this a relatively cheap synth.
