Anyone play this?

Some friends of mine took a break from ffxi to play CC for awhile, I think we got 18-20 hours into it.. probably could have gone to the end dungeon, but we were messing around trying to get all the fancy items and what not..

I was a little disappointed in the lack of ... um.. stuff to do in the game. It really was the same thing over and over again.

Go into dungeon, kill everything in it, get drop of stuff. Rinse repeat. We all had gba's so we had the fancy options with inventory in our palms.. and maps and all sorts of other neat things, but other than that, I think the game lacked.

I was sorta mad for awhile because I focused on being a mage and until 3/4 through the game, I had to search for spheres to cast spells in every dungeon, so I'd start out damn near useless. Finally, I got an item that gave me a spell that I could keep, so at least I had some combat worth from then on out, but in all our playing, we only got one item like this. I forget how many game years we played.. but I would venture to guess 6 or 8.. I forget..

Daclade played with me.. and has a better memory, so I'm sure he'll chime in.

We finally went to the dungeon desert the last time we played.. we spent a long time just gearing up.. and getting items/money..

I think we finished that region though.. hmm.. been a long time. Too many other games since then to remember..

I get to the end of the desert and its blocked by a avalanche....and I got back and examine these rocks and it says "this spot is special..." ...heh what do I do there?

This game is pretty much a complicated, boring Zelda clone. Too bad THIS is what S-E used to get back onto Nintendo...

Yeah.. it's sad.

It started out as a fun game.. but very quickly becomes boring and monotonus(sp?). I would go over to a friends house with my the game, and play with him.. I would still find myself falling asleep from sheer boredom. When a game makes you tired because its boring.. that's not a good game.

It had some good elements.. and to be honest.. if you didnt have to worry about who had the bucket and whatnot it might have been a bit more fun. That way both/all players could attack at the same time..

The whole limited fighting space really got on my nerves.

OMG

I thought this game was gonna be sweet. For the first year it was after that nothing but BS. I was furious. I bought a new GBA SP I bought the game and 3 link cables. God did it piss me off.

I will always wonder on how it could be better. Same things over and over again.

I was so pissed I gave it to a friend of mine that played with me and i said get this shit away from me, and i haven't seen it since Thank God.

Yeah I rememeber playing this with Ghaleon and Pupusa on the weekends and MAN was it booring after the first game year. Talk about repetitive. Its like they are all the same dungeon, just that they have different collered walls... yay. Just boring.

I also hear that they are going to try and make another game from this for the PSP or something like that. Why? It was a P.O.S. game before, so how is that going to change now? It had alot of potential, just that somehow the game fell flat.

I didn't mind the game. It did get repetitive, but the idea behind the game wasn't all that bad. The game is definately best played with 4 players, as you have more access to spells and extras... like the enemy scouter.

The different incidents that happen were fun the first time around, but after you see them 3 and 4 times it gets annoying. However.... this is a safety feature of the game as since you can ONLY play with 4 people and a town consists of 8.... the other members need to experience the same events in order to be properly equipped for the end of the game.

Saying the dungeons were all the same is also being stuck up. What game do you know where the dungeons are completely different? None. They are ALWAYS the same basic designs with different "puzzles" to solve, with the main goal being "get all the loot and kill the boss at the end." I had a further issue with "kill the boss" as the bosses all seemed to want ot kill me. I restarted my data 5 times, and everytime the boss insisted on killing me first....

In the end... its to each their own opinon. A game is only as fun as you make it. Me and my gang of freinds tended to "create " little side games, and ignored most of the basic stuff as to make the game more challenging. When you take on bosses.... and have your arty outside of the crystals protection for 90% of the battle.... trust me... its nothing usual about that. Another thing about it is people buy guides and do it linearly. Go out and do a SIDE QUEST or something. IMO it was more fun if you blazed your own trail through it. Don't skip Ribenah Te Ra just because it was an optional area. Go visit there cause you want to explore, and have fun. A lot of people say "I have completed a game" but really haven't. Like it goes in Fire Emblem, you can't complete the game until you've played every character to their max potential in every setting (for better or worse).

Thats my two bits... didn't mean for it to turn into a rant... and don't mean to offend anyone who thinks its boring..... as after all... we are all intitled to our opions
