I know that there are only a handful of people on the server that have really taken to Chocobo Racing, but with the Nov. 19 update, SE has finally made it all worthwhile :biggrin:

You can now Race your chocobo every 24hrs, and once you get to the top 2 tiers of races, it can be very profitable. A C2 race victory is 50k, a C1 victory is 100k.

I know I am not the first on our server to win a Gold cup, but I post here in hopes to inspire forgotten chocobreeders to give racing another try.. racing against all NPC's isn't nearly as exciting as racing against real people!

That is definitely awesome. I was starting to feel like giving up on my racer chocobo, but you've been keeping me inspired to keep at it. Maybe one day she'll even beat you! :P
 
Out of curiosity (and if you're willing to part with trade secrets), what's your stat distribution and abilities on your choco? I sent my normal racer in once (who can beat everything but the three supers in original racing) and he got absolutely clobbered.

According to SE's new stat system, my chocobo is SS - A - C - C, or First Class, Impressive, Average, Average, with Gallop and Canter. In the free races I can beat all 3 supers in the one on one races w/o items, in the 3 supers race I come in fourth unless I use a speed apple.


For the Circuit races, I always use a speed apple and an elm saddle, and I think I am about 13/16 in wins now. The first two C1 races I did I was set to Keep pace and I came in 3rd and 2nd (just behind the leads). The C1 race I won I had changed to final spurt, and finished 2-3 chocolengths ahead of 2nd place.

Thanks for the info. I'm planning on raising a racing choco if I can ever get one to pop out non-yellow, preferably red. Batallia is rather unkind when it comes to producing people selling red female chococards though.
