You don't have to kill the NMs to get the glasses. 1 crystal will get you your specs, 20 get the HQ. NMs just increase the number of crystals you get at one time.

Edit: Oh, they're AH sellable too! That's awesome. xD

And how do you get the crystals??
 
You infiltrate the 6 beastmen strongholds. The positions of the crystals are on page 1 of this thread I think.

After killing several NMs my conclusion is repop is within 10min +/- the 1hr mark.
 
Remember guys, whichever server gets the most amount of crystals harvested gets a free teleport service between the Three Nations. (Possibly long before they implement it universally, almost like with regional teleports.) So even after you get your shades don't slack off with participating.
 
Where are you guys getting that its a server competition?

There was a mention of some kind of inter-server competition at the recent fan-fest in Japan, IIRC. I mostly skimmed it, though, so feel free to look it up.

A telepoint sure would be nice... Oh well. :3 This gives me something to do at least.
