D/Cing when cancelling Shadows?

Just wondering if anyone has experienced problems d/cing when you cancel one of your shadows (Utsusemi) at the top of your screen?

My bf Xean and myself were lvling, and he was on his NIN and when he would go to cancel a shadow, but then he gets booted. I myself tried this, went to select the buffs I had and it d/ced me as well.

He does use windower, but he tried a second time to play without windower and this problem happened again, so i'm curious if anyone else has had it, and if there are any known solutions?

Have you updated your .dat files since the update in the sense of changing them? I'd assume its a problem in that sense, I know brandson UI pack has something with the shadow symbol so that might be the case.

I think that might be the problem, we're downloading Brandson's newest version of the .dat mods for fonts and symbols. Hopefully that'll be the solutions ; ;
 
this is the main reason why i dont mess with that stuff. im to afriad i'll mess something up and i dont wanna waste time fixing it when i could be playing.
 
Ok apparently the newest version .10c also isn't doing anything to fix the problem. Seems like it might be a bug of SE's?
 
Brandsons was giving me problems before this update. It would crash me out everytime. I swapped out the original files and the problems went away.

Thanks Merc, though Xean also tried that too. Were you having problems crashing whenever you'd try to select a buff on the top of your status bar? Because that's what is happening, and apparently its only when he clicks on the Utsusemi shadow icon... however I myself tried this and just went to select my refresh icon as I was playing WHM, and the game also crashed on me.
 
I guess just do a file check and make sure that doesn't fix anything. I was partying on my Nin tonight and canceling Utsusemi never kicked me so it doesn't seem to be a universal problem with the update.

This sounds like the same thing that happened to me with the Goldsmithing Imagery thing. I never got the updated version though.
 
Well when I had tried to select my buffs while we were xping last night, I disconnected too. At the time, I had an older version of the Brandson UI mod pack, and also an older version of windower.

After the party, I downloaded a newer version of Windower, but not the Brandson UI and tried to select my buffs, and everything was fine. However, at the time the only "buff" I had was signet as I had done a few things in game since I had experienced the problem.

Xean has downloaded the newest version of the Brandson UI, and Windower. He has also removed both of these (logged in through regular POL) to see if one might be the problem, but he said he still experienced the problem. He did submit an email to technical support, but as we all know how they're like, he's not likely to get an answer so if anyone has any info on this, or suggestions please let me know.
 
I tried the latest UI pack, with and without Windower. Didn't work. I downloaded the latest Windower version; didn't work. I replaced all such dats with the original dats, with and without Windower; still didn't work.

This is crap, it is specifically when I touch the Utsusemi status icon. Nothing else. Well so much for leveling my NIN... most fun I've had playing a job. Maybe SE will respond. ...Seriously getting my hopes up.

lol Guess I was just a bit serious... I mean I am talking about ninja 4 tha winja. You know to expect that from me though, when they will finally say something to address my issue. :P

Well fuck me, i'm having the same exact problem on my laptop. I haven't had these issues wif my DeskTop, but that broke down, so i'm having to use my halfass laptop meanwhile, and it only happens when using Utsu...

Just wondering if you all managed to figure something out..

Xean didn't get any reply over the weekend, but hopefully if their tech support office is open today, and hopefully if they are the type of company that responds within 24 hrs, he'll have something tonight. If he does, I'll get him to post what solution he gets.


Lets just hope SE doesn't give the "Its not our issue" response -_-
 
This is happening to me too. I can't highlight anything at the top of my screen without it crashing. It sucks.
