I'm in the same situation as you. I got my start in the whole bbs thing back when I was about 8 years old. Twenty years ago. O.O

I don't remember that game, but I was addicted to some spaceship game where you flew around to different ports, bought and traded, and got bigger and better ships. lol. Those were the days.

I actually sometimes thing about installing one of those old games on a network.

Could that possibily be Escape Velocity. It sounds alot like it, and the time frame kinda matches up. I really loved that game too.

I used to have to dial in with zcomm to UT and play MUDs from there via the timeshare network telnet connection XD

Y'know .. back before these damn things had graphics ... get off my lawn!

I played that! I hella hax0rd it too! Made an invincible ship with a laser beam turret that could 1 hit any other ship in the game. I fuckin smoked Captin Hector so many times... Shareware for the win, I never payed Ambrosia.

Of course I was 6 so it's not like I could have if I wanted to.

Still..... I loved that game.
