Last night after a month of crunching hard numbers... Lucylittle and I hit the final ding in our latest jobs. Long story goes back over a year almost.
While still in my Sky LS I took a break on some days to not get burnt out on sky as fast as it was happening, I started to level WHM. Slowly but surely it progressed and I made a little game out of it as to not get tired of just sitting in the back lines curing and healing. How long can a mobs enfeeble stay on my PT members. Silly stupid game, I know but it did in fact have people at the end of PT's saying: Wow!! You're an awesome WHM...
Me: Nooooo... not really!! But thanks for the PT!
I didn't really feel that I was a good WHM. But I was having fun with it. After a while I realized that I had to level my BLM for a sub job. This got me into my LS static with Damita, and Ithenas! Hah.. we've had some great times. After a short while and a new LS Stouter joined us. And till just recently as we've progressed to know the upper 50's... our static was filled with Roady and Zyn joining us! Awesome...
However Mage life just wasn't a true love of mine. I did it for seeing what life was like on the other side. I've tried my hardest to do the best job that I can but sometimes get held back by my selection of Mithra. Especially when it comes to being a BLM in a static PT with a mana/INT bank next to you. (I compare meself to teh Taru too much I tink...) So... I thought to level a new melee.
With WHM in the 40s and BLM close in two in the low 30s... I thought what job would I like to play next. My first love being a TP THF, I loved the fast hits. The constant TP build. What job compared with it?! I found Monkey. So I started leveling Monkey with a new passion. Before I knew it I found myself in the 30s. Getting the best gear that I could. (Thank you Dami for your kind rent to own policy on me O. Kote!) I found myself leveling 3 jobs... and doing CoP at the same time. Out of the 3 jobs I loved MNK the best. Around the time of the RNG nerf Lucylittle decided to say it's time for a new job as well... And started to level NIN. However his PT experience was marred and down played because of poor mages and not knowing what to do with a NIN tank. So, I started being his personal WHM. When we got into the 60's I missed MNK a lot since I had gotten it all the way to 62 on my own. And now I had WHM and MNK at the same level. But my passion was still for MNK. We were 64. MNK, WMN and Lucy on NIN were all at 64. And one day we were building a PT, the mages were present... but suprisingly the melee weren't. We invited a WHM and I was finally able to xp MNK with Lucy. And we had a blast. It taught me how to curb my STR's as MNK to allow Lucy to accurately hold hate without causing too much of an issue. And Lucy learned how to cement hate with a hate stealer like MNK in PT. When we got to the high 60's we started fueling the flame of getting 75 by discussing with each other what we got at certain levels... and the 70's were nothing but awesome toys that laid ahead of us. I'd get home from work seeing Lucy in LS and I'd ask... xp? and Lucy would immediately reply back with Sure!
Two nights ago we were both 74. I had a huge lead in xp by like 10k xp. Sitting in Uleguerand Range Sunday night we thought it would be the night. Our LS event had run long and had a huge difference of Opinions... (which I'm trying to resolve at the moment.) Down in the dumps I had hoped that xp and getting to 75 would cheer me up. So in an xp PT made up by LS members across two LS's that I'm in, we headed out. XP was slow at first but we found our rhythem... and it seemed like it was taking a while to gain xp, but then a glance at xp and the margin had dropped from 10k tnl to 3k tnl in a bit of time. It was getting late, I was starting to drain off and strain to keep my eyes seeing straight. Sdav went to pull a mob and we find ourselves with 4. Some travelers had gotten way more aggro than they could handle and asked for our help. Having a full PT, we tried to manage the extra weight but it was too much. And we wiped. It was okay tho... I was less than 2k from 75. And in my heart and in my mind, I told the PT that I couldn't last much longer... I gave out a 30 minute warning just before the wipe and that I didn't want to hit 75 without Lucy. We had to wait a bit for weaknesses to wear off and decided that with Odon being 95 limit points from his next merit, we'd kill one more mob and close for the night. And that we did. With Odon's next merit point awarded, we D2'd around and shut down for the night.
A friend of mine had a birthday this weekend. We had made tentative plans for last night to go out for dinner. So I asked of Lucy to solo his butt off so that we could maybe solo for our dings, or if my dinner plans fell through, we could get an xp PT. I got home last night and made a phone call. My friend had her son and we would not have been able to go out for dinner... (YAY!!!! I mean... damn...) I said okay and we made plans for next week. And I logged on. With a quick search of who was looking I see friends out there who are looking for an xp PT. I think I jinxed ourselves when I joked around with Baek...
Me: Want a good PT?!
Baek: Sure!!! Tell me when you find one!
Me: okay!!
Baek: lol
There was the jinx. We made a PT super fast. And back to the range we went. Little did I know Lucy had a surprise in stow waiting for me. When I asked him if he had solo'd he said a little bit. I scolded him on it since I was hoping he'd get really close to level. He assured me however that he'd level with one PT. And we had our PT. 1,750xp was all that was sitting between me and 75. And I had 1 charge left on my xp ring... so xp for me was going to fly.
We get to our xp grounds and start our roaming. Mobs start dying. Xp starts flying. Chain 1... Chain 2... Chain 3... Chain 4...
When we hit Chain 4 something happened that I was not expecting at all... We were met with the Level Up!!! sound. The party chat log is suddenly filled with Congrats!! My thought process kinda skipped a couple beats as I typed /p Congra(tab) as I scroll up to see Lucy dinged 75.
I laughed so hard in real life since Lucy had tricked me. He had gotten a PT during the day and parked his butt right between me and my level to 75. I always said when we got close to levels that he'd solo or do something that would put him in line for leveling first. And he had done it again... I think I was laughing for a good 3 to 4 minutes... at the same time tho we were still killing... Chain 5... Chain 6... My ding!! YAY!!! Chain 7... Chain 8... Lucy has a POL crash... >< 3 melees and 2 mages... Boon gets doomed and cursna has no effect!!! Boon goes down... in the middle of this field... the repops start coming... and the repops start aggro'ing. >< Lucy comes back... dies quickly and delevels... T.T We still fight... yet... we wipe... I delevel... and mobs are EVERYWHERE. Baek our only hope... took him 40 minutes... but he did a phenomanl job. And managed to tractor and raise everyone so that we could go on.
(Side Funny story at this point) After Lucy Boon and I were raised... I was up at the top of the hill. Waiting for weakness to wear off. I had used my last Prisim powder to get from where Baek had raised me to the safe haven of where I was at. And Baek got aggro'd >< Ran back to where we were but as he got there... he died... T.T Not sure how it happened but after he reraised, somehow aggro came back and knocked him out again... T.T >< T.T And now with 3 melees at about half life and a steadfast RDM had to deal with this new aggro... Full ACC gear and sushi... this Demon had something on him that made all our ACC fall through the floor... we didn't have this issue really with any other mob... yet this one. Lucy and Boon had pretty much all the hate... tossing shadows up as quick as they could as to keep them standing... the mob finally died. Baek gets raised one more time. All of us are just sitting at the top of the mountain with one melee left to raise. My HP was around 900HP. And being a Monkey... I didn't want to take away from Baek or Chorono's resting period... so I quietly use my Chakra macro... which has a change gear in it. But of course there's not enough room in the macro to change my gear back. So I have that in a seperate macro.
Alt 0 gets me back in TP gear.
Ctrl 0 launches Hundred Fists.
So on my screen I see Baek healing next to me, Chrono next to him... Lucy and Boon sitting over looking the area infront of us. After the little animation of my Chakra... I go to put my EQ back to TP... but I hit Ctrl instead of Alt...

During the time that we were wiped out, our SAM mentions that his mom wants him to go to the store. But since the randomness of mob movement can't really guanantee when he can be raised. >< He says he'll wait. Baek goes to work... lol... after we were raised and started xp'ing again... our SAM DC's. I think mom got mad and unplugged something and our SAM never returned. But we continued with 5. And got another 12k of xp. Until poor Boondocksaint's cable went out.
We waited... And I sat there... looking at my job screen to see my second job to 75. And Lucylittle with now his third!
