Dainslaif HP Drain Question

Normally, while subbing warrior, the HP drain triggers about 1/10 times. Sometimes less, like 1/20, but never any more than 1/10.

Lately I've been leveling BLM, and sub it on PLD for fun while soloing or farming or whatever. I've also noticed that my Dainslaif HP triggers about 1/3 swings, and has been known to trigger three or four times in a row. Was thinking maybe since Drain is linked to Dark magic it had to do with darksday, but... seems to behave the same even on lightsday.

Could it be the HP trigger is linked to an INT stat? Or perhaps a Dark Magic skill? Any thoughts about this?

I think it's something to do with Dark Magic skill... because my DRK's Death Scythe procs about 1/8 on VT~IT mobs which is really good

In my experience, INT does effect drain weapons. I didn't know it increased frequency, but I am pretty sure that it will affect the amount drained.

int affects trigger rate and hp drain amount on all dp drain weapons i've encountered thus far.

Thanks for posting. Seems it was common knowledge, but I couldn't find any information on it on alla. Guess I'll have to play around with a few things in my equipment slots then.

yeah i never knew that but it explains why my death scythe +1 acts like a mini blood weapon. Plus in my use of the dainslaif i was HP draining very often. Nice info to have!
