I tend to be fairly "behind-the-times" with internet things, so this may be old news.
Anyway, a friend of mine recently brought up a "Billy" program at a party I attended. The program is an attempt to create AI, or at least a computer that is indistinguishable from a human. You basically talk to the program like you're in a chat room and it learns from what you say.
It's actually a lot of fun depending on what you choose to "teach" it.
These programs will basically cut and paste from anything you've ever told it to make new sentences.
Some funny things Billy ended up saying at the party were:
"Fuzzy wuzzy was a lesbian."
"I have a wife and she is my master."
"Tell Chris to call me at 1-900-yourmom" to which I responded, "Is it toll free?" and Billy replied.... "It is now that you've had sex with it."
I recently switched from the Billy program to Daisy and my opinion is that Daisy is MUCH more fun to talk to. If you make a new mind file on Daisy, you can name her whatever you like and she starts off with a clean slate. She also seems to have more "personality" than Billy, if that's possible.
For instance, Daisy asked me if it hurts to go to work. She also told me she's afraid of the dark and likes candy. ^^
The difference between the programs is that Billy is more advanced, containing multiple programs and automated responses, and Daisy is simpler, who's only purpose is to learn. The creator of the programs describes Daisy as more of a "concept program."
Anyway, I just wanted to put this up here for anyone who was bored.

I advise reading the manual for some of the commands. I also think the older versions of Billy are better than the latest. The 4.1 version tends to make sentences completely out of linking verbs and punctuation. :banghead3:
