Long post ahead, a bit of a ramble sorry.
Ok, I think of myself as a newbie still, but one that is very willing to learn and has picked up things faster than I see others have. I have my skill chain chart and often find myself in a leader role in my parties, organising skillchains, educating those who dont know how to tank, pull etc. So I get annoyed when I get discriminated against because I am still only rank 2.
Today I got black listed for the second time to my knowledge. I was looking at the AH in lower jeuno as a 23 WHM/BLM without my flag up, about to log off when I get a /tell from a Rank 7 San'dorian Hume clled Dakko. He asks me if I want to party in Qufim. I respond simply with 'no', short and simple as I dont want an extensive conversation and I thought it was obvious that I didnt want to as I didnt have my flag up.
He immediately comes back a litle huffy and tells me I could have been polite enough to say 'no thankyou'
. Now, I wasn't annoyed that he asked me when I didn't have my flag up, I have done it myself and I know how desperate for WHM's parties can get. But I would never have a go at them if they turned me down, I would apologise for bothering them, and say thanks for their time.
I search for Dakko and see he is Rank 7, so I cant even give him the newbie's benefit of the doubt. I tell him that I dont think it was polite for him to invite me when it was obvious I wasnt looking and he gets angry saying 'I'll take advice about this game from you when you're rank 7!' after which he tells me I'm black listed ><. I could only LOL to this.
I know there are a lot of nice high ranked people out there, and I have met and waved to a fair few from here, but there are some people like Dakko who just give me the impression that a high rank = arrogance.
Well this hasn't turned into much of a flame, but I'm not a naturally angry person
