So last night, during some lively ls banter about . . . something . . . my computer goes dead. And not normal "OMGITSFFXIEEEEEEK!!!!!!!" restart dead, totally dead. Black screen and blinking green light dead. As of this morning before I left, it still wouldn't turn on. Luckily, we're planning to get a 360 in early May. But still. I may or may not be on until then. We have a second computer, but it tends to be in use. Just hope I can get stuffs off the harddrive. >.>

Isn't there a thread somewhere mentioning "forced breaks"?

*probably* just a dead PS. Easily fixed.

I will probably pay someone to fix that. I'm not sure I'm comfortable messing with Electricity.

Bah! It's just 4 screws and a couple of plugs. Remove it yourself and take it to a pc parts store (to make sure they give you what you need seeing as how it doesn't sound as though you'd know what to ask for) and put it in yourself. Save yourself the money that the overpriced geeksquad would charge you.

No, I wouldn't know what to ask for. I used to have a sister to take care of these things for me, but she met a Boy and moved to Sweden.

There aren't any strange switches or jumpers I'll have to mess with, though?

4 screws, 1 at/atx cable, 1 processor cable(depending on type of processor), 1 per hdd, 1 per cd/dvd rom, 1 for floppy(if you have), 1 for fan(possibly).

Problem solved!

It's pretty easy. Just make sure you re-hook up all the connectors. i.e. devices, possible vid car, aux power on mobo, and main power.

Lol, the more answers I get the less sure I am I can do this. It seems to be getting more and more complicated. I can pull a card out and put a new one in properly, but the last time I tried to do anything involving cables, it went poorly.

This thing should come with instructions, though, right?

Lol, can I get one for under 130$? Cause it's tempting . . .

That's a plus. Plug & play I can do.
