Dark Spark Fight

After having finally lvling my whm to 37, and almost having enough gil to buy a dark staff and some other misc. equipment, i'm finally almost ready to start lvling my blm main once again.
That being said, my next af piece is coming up in two lvls (52 of 54 at the moment), and it just happens to be the Dark Spark fight for my gloves. I'm not in much of a rush for it, seeing as how I'm so far from the equipable lvl (and the fact that I don't even have the key for the Garlaige Citadel coffer ), but I was just wondering what lvl and party configuration those of you that have beaten this NM and lived to tell about it used. I've heard several different opinions about what it takes, and since it's so soon, I was getting kind of curious.
One more question... is it possible to fight this NM without having already gotten the key item from the coffer? For instance, if I saw a party for this being formed in Jeuno, should I consider going along?

This is like other coffer quests but you need to get the "old gauntlet"(I believe its called like this in NA version) from the coffer first. Then after talking to several npcs in jeuno and searched the ??? in Port Jeuno, you will be asked to bring a drk spark. Check my Whm or Rdm AF section. All jobs has to do the same thing except every job's coffer is located in a different dungeon. For Blm the coffer you seek is Garliage Citadel.
