I was doing eco-warrior today and lots of people died, so this retard makes everyone pay him 1k for a raise so we could still do the quest. WTF? What kind of person does that?

If mages are wondering why people can be asses to them, it's because people like this give us a bad reputation.

but still, having to pay for raises is rather dumb, if you dont have the time to stop and raise someone, then you should straighten up your life a bit

teleporting i can understand why to pay like 500gil for it, becuz the teleports arent easy to get, unlike Raise

You said lots, so Ill assume 10...

that's 30 minutes of my time I could use for something else...

Well maybe he should refuse to do it, instead of to extortion.
 
I dont believe in charging for raises. Even if there were 100 people to be raised I wouldnt charge a gil (although I do admit that it would be quite freustrating and it would take a lot of time to do).

Charging for a teleport or a warp is different because lets face it, it is a convenience. A raise on the other hand is usually necessary, either to save time or exp, but especially during eco-warrior (I'm pretty sure if you would HP you have to do the quest over, correct me if I'm wrong here). It is pretty much taking advantage of people when you say, "sure, I'll raise you all for X gil" when you know that they have no other option.

Dark is in my LS and he is a cool guy. He synthes arrows for me hella cheap sometimes and all. I think a whm can charge whatever they want for raises but not giving raises in your pt is kind of shitty i agree. First off, was it a crappy alliance. Seeing as alot of people died it couldnt have been too great, he was prolly just pissed and decided to charge. I dont agree with his behaviour but i dont think that makes him a powertripping rdm.

its obvious he was the clearer or just there becuz you get capped at 20 for eco-warrior
 
I just thought of something... was he in the alliance, or just passing by? Because if he was in the alliance, he wasnt being a very good member or really helping out like he agreed to by joining in the first place, but if he was just passing by he may not have wanted to "waste his time you you N00bs!!!!!1oneone" or whatever excuse he may have made.

Whatever the case, I still dont agree with charging for raises.

He was not in the alliance, and he was not the clearer. But I still think he was being somewhat of an ass

Ok, rethinking the situation I can see his point. I guess what's making me upset is that he was a bit of an ass about it afterwards. (He basically had a "haha I made you pay me 1k and there's nothing you can do about it" additude)

Extortion? You didn't have to pay. I'm a firm believer in paying for raises, even if the raiser doesn't ask. If the raiser says "no, that's cool" I don't force the issue

If I happen by someone that needs a raise or if its in the area I am headed too, then I raise that person for free. If I get a tell for a raise and its out of my way then I say Sorry you are out of my way. But too be totally honest if a WHM or anyother class that can raise getts alot of tells where it is eating up their time, then I can see where they may want to be paid for their time. I never charge for a raise and doubt I ever will.
 
I can't say I agree with charging for a raise, but I can't say I disagree either.

You definitely don't have to pay the man if you don't feel like it.

If we didn't get raised we couldn't finish the quest. No 5 + exp. If I had just not payed him after being raised he would've left and I would have screwed my whole alliance (he said, and this is an exact quote, "first person who doesn't pay I leave")
