The Outsiders
This movie almost seems like someones desire to shift the karmic balance of vampire movies being put out by Hollywood since the introduction of the Twilight series. It doesn't try to introduce some love saga between a human and "vampire" - it goes straight for the gore ala the Blade series, except with more exploding bad guys and Willem Defoe as the protagonist. Sadly, that's about all it has going for it. The story is bleh, I felt no empathy for any of the characters, and frankly it overdoes the blood and guts. I usually look to MovieBob for reviews because he has very similar taste to mine, but this one you could easily wait for DVD release and you wouldn't be missing much. Just a heads up if anyone was interested.. wait it out, trust meh.

Yeah overall it was a decent movie, but the ending felt way rushed and it pissed me off.

I liked it a lot. It was like Children of Men, but with vampires...vampires who don't sparkle. It worked well as science fiction as well as horror.

And Willem Dafoe had the best line in the movie:

Spoiler:
Paraphrasing, because I don't remember it exactly: "Being a human in a world full of vampires is like barebacking a five-dollar whore."

It was meh, I went to see it last night and like someone said above me, it did seemed rushed at the end.

My friends hated it though, I liked it kinda.

I thoroughly enjoyed it =)

Liked the whole twist on things. But ultimately the same message was there. Humans are greedy fucks.

See humans turn vampire nearly starved themselves to death expending all their resources.

I rather liked the story, the acting.

I'll probably wait til this one comes out on DVD to watch - there are so many films coming out that I want to see - why is it that the "off-season" has some of the coolest movies out there?

I was on the borderline about going to see this in theatres, but after reading some of the reviews on here, I don't think I will be. I'll just save my $$$ and rent it when it comes out. :)
