Why is it assumed that this is Deadpool, given that we know Ryan Reynolds is playing Deadpool and is shown repeatedly through the previews looking nothing like that.

Doesn't it seem far more likely that that's supposed to be the "Weapon XI" listed on the cast listing? Looking rather engineered, showing powers from other mutants, etc?

Spoiler:
Seems they changed the character, Deadpool WILL be Weapon XI from what I've been reading. Not sure why its listed as a different person though

From what I've been reading, those changes are utter speculation. Stuff fans threw up on the IMDB site after they got this idea into their heads based on some sort of toy packaging they saw, which (seeing as how I work in a store that sells everything a growing geek needs) is far from conclusive evidence. Trust me. Stuff listed on preview publications and sites are frequently mislabeled, for a variety of reasons.

I hope so lol Cuz what I've been reading hasn't been all too great

If this is the way the movie is going... This wikll be epic failure shit to me. Man i seriously hate these Marvel movies. Too many busts.

I think people are overreacting. The trailer still shows the guy who is Deadpool as being a normal dude with two katanas firmly grasped in his arm. It also shows this other mutant freak that resembles Baraka. I think they are two different characters.

It's funny how people are getting so worked up over him and not the main character. Marketing is doing something wrong when the big news is not what the movie is about lol

I just finished watching the leaked version of the film, and yes, it's deadpool.

Emma Frost's diamond form looks like shit. It's almost as if the special effects guys went "Diamond? OFCOURSE, Wedding Rings!" and decided to cover her in pea-sized crystals. She looks more like a walking snow woman.

From what I understand, the producers merged the characters of Weapon XI and Deadpool, further extending out the testing done on Wilson to turn him into (this film's version of) Weapon XI.

The only way this films Deadpool could have any saving grace is if he's fourth wall breaking like the comic Deadpool.

I'm downloading the movie right now, no way I'm paying money after the way they've handled Deadpool. They cast a near perfect choice with Ryan Reynolds playing him, and then come up with this Weapon XI bullshit at the end. They ruined my favorite Marvel character, even if Ryan gets a few good lines in, anything with Weapon XI ruins the end for me.

If you want to see a near perfect potrayal of Deadpool, watch the Hulk Vs Wolverine DVD.

This is what they did.

He doesn't.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Will Have Multiple Secret Endings!

I just stepped out of a screening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine on the Fox lot in Los Angeles and before it started, director Gavin Hood stopped by to introduce the film. He spent most of the time thanking us for coming to this screening and seeing Wolverine the way it should be seen, in theaters, and talked about how many difference there were between the final cut and the early leaked version. He then mentioned that Marvel has a tradition of hiding easter eggs in their films, and it's no exception for Wolverine. They've hidden multiple secret endings on different prints and theaters will be showing different versions.

Fox is a bit desperate to try and get people in theaters on May 1st for the opening and this definitely seems like a very unique decision to try and bring people in. While we've seen plenty of easter egg endings, like in Iron Man last year, we haven't seen multiple endings like this in a long time. Hood didn't say how many different endings there would be. As for the other differences between the leaked version and the final cut, Hood explained that there were 400 unfinished visual effects shots and that there was no score, unfinished sound mixing, and unfinished coloring. However, he didn't mention anything about differences in footage.

I will say, quickly, that I enjoyed Wolverine and wouldn't call it great, but liked it a lot more than I was expecting. I think my expectations had been brought down considerably because of all the negative buzz from the leak. However, seeing a finished and polished version was what made all the difference (I never saw the leaked version anyway). As for the secret ending we saw tonight, I'll only say that it featured Deadpool, but I won't say anything more, as I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone. We'll let you know when we hear any more about the secret endings in Wolverine, including how many there are and what they are.

Still not enough to warrant a ticket purchase IMO, I doubt the "secret" endings will be more then 30 seconds of new footage, it's just a quick trick from Fox to get people in seats after the leak.

Why not? The movie was great, and it would be ridiculously easy to "fix" deadpool with even 30 seconds of additional footage. I've seen the leaked version 4 times now and I'm still planning on seeing it in theaters.
