Movie Deadpool mauled by fox(not squirrel) on news at 11

meh, this movie was bad :P entertaining a bit, but not a good movie.

Lol you just reminded me the /decapitate part, i had almost forgot it. Lol this movie was meh, if wolverine was first created in this movie, the movie woulda been alright. I think its one thing to not follow a book/comic 100%, but its another to just add random things that simply dont belong just for kicks.

If i could talk to the makers of the film, i would just ask a few things. Baj, you can answer them if you want since your so adamant about this being a good movie.

Why did you change deadpool so drastically? (I.E All the excess powers, controlled, etc)

Umm, /decapitate?

Why did you put Gambit in the movie?

Why did you make them brothers?

Why did you make his "Origins" in a short clip at the beginning of the movie?

I would guess the following

Because they needed a big battle at the end and rather than paying another actor and developing another character they merged them. Seems purely a financial move to me.

/decapitate was just a command since he was remote controlled. I don't rly get what the big deal with this was or why it got under the skin of some people lol

Appeasing fans. Why are you asking the question when you know the answer?

Your guess is as good as mine. Probably just to make an emotional connection between the two somehow. I always thought they were rivals in the army or w/e, which would have made more sense.

I think that was just to establish how he and Sabertooth became so close.

Bone Claws makes me sad :( sure there are comics that came out that had him have that.. but originally he NEVER had claws and I think that was better. Just super healing and good sense of smell/instincts and then got his claws after the Weapon X stuff.

I think my question would be "why did you put in characters you had no intention of fleshing out since you knew that would most likely irk fans?"

"Why did you feel like ripping off Phantom Menace with the last fight, complete with kick off a high place to a free-fall decapitation?" (ok in Phantom Menace it was his torso but same thing).

Why did you blatently put 3 characters (Cyclops/Emma Frost/Wade Wilson) on the poster when they had a collective line count of lets say 20 lines of dialog? Did you not think the fans would be angry at this obvious smack in the face? Do you think the fans will be willing to see the next movie you choose to make since you've burned them a bit with this one?

How bereft of entertainment do you think the public is that they would accept this mediocre (at best) comic book movie just because Wolverine is the title character?

I do agree with you for the most part, but to their defense, I and most others would watch practically every Xmen movie or any movie adapted from a comic book we were a fan of no matter how bad the other ones were.

I guess the simple answer to the question "Why did you half ass this movie?" would simply be, "Because they can", people will pay regardless..

On another note, anyone get different endings?

Yeah there were apparently 2 alternates that people got to see. One was of deadpools hand reaching out of the rubble to touch his head, and the other is Logan at a bar where the bartender asks him if he's drinking to forget and his reply is that hes drinking to remember.

Oh and yeah I would go to watch it if it was an "X-men" movie, but after this I'm seriously going to wait before I go see anything made by this company with this director. Fool me once, shame on you fool me twice... well I'll just DL it for free next time so screw you!

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. It was just as good (or bad depending on your point of view) as the other 3 movies. None of the X-Men movies were spectacular. They're alright, something to watch on a Saturday afternoon on cable when nothing else is on.

Sure they weren't true to the character's comic background. Big fucking surprise they weren't in the other 3 movies either. Everyone is whining like there expected something different. Stop comparing everything to Iron Man and you might actually enjoy a movie for a change.

If you keep poking your eye with a stick, and it hurt the last 3 times, why the hell are you going to be surprised it hurts when you do it again? More of the same. Mediocre plot, better then average action, nothing special. As a matter of fact, it was about as predictable as poking your eye with a stick.

Woah woah woah. Wait a minute, did you seriously just group all 3 X-Men movies together in terms of being about the same? Did you seriously even watch these movies?

Not to get too off from the main topic here, but anyone who's seen all 3 knows without a doubt the third movie was absolutely horrible compared to the first two. In my own personal opinion X2 was by far the best of the three, and by a large, ....huge margin. The first movie was good, but it was the beginning and had to establish a bar to improve upon and improve they did with X2. X3 was like taking the eye candy of X2 and shitting on everything else, a complete failure of what could have been a good movie.

Now, I haven't seen Wolverine just yet, but I plan on seeing it soon.. at a matinee price. Since I'm hearing it's just "okay". But hell, if most people view it as better than X3 then I'll give it a shot. Anything has got to be better than that damn ruination of the X-Men universe.

Wow i came to read how awesome it was..and i read a handful of people talking like it was trash.
I personally thought the movie was awesome, But then again i know better than to expect any movie adapted from another medium to be a carbon copy.
My only gripe was their choice of actor for gambit and his lack of a good accent.

Gambit looked a bit too much like Johnny Depp.

That's been an established point ever since Magneto ripped out Wolverine's adamantium, so it's not like it's a here-and-there shot of bone-claws.

There were three secret endings.

1) Weapon XI reaches out and grabs his head, and gives the audience a shushing motion (breaking the fourth wall)

2) The shitty secret ending that Stine and I got: Wolverine drinking and moping in a Japanese bar.

3) Wade Wilson walks up to Weapon XI's decapitated body, grabs the head, looks at it, and says "who the hell are you supposed to be?"

Overall I thought it was a good comic book movie. I got a few spoilers in here.

Spoiler:
It fit in well with the other movies. Granted I wasn't expecting it to be exactly like the comics especially since Emma and Scott where in the trailers and most comic book movies aren't exactly like the comics. The main reason that they couldn't have kept the movie like the comics is Wolverine wouldn't get the Adamantium until right before the end of the movie. He went through the Weapon X project without his metal until the experiment. Then he broke out of the lab killing most everyone there. Shortly after he was found by the honeymooning Hudsons from Alpha Flight. Then he joined Alpha Flight and later joined the X-Men. I think most Wolverine fans going to see a movie about Wolverine want to see him with his Adamantium claws cutting up the bad guys.

Yeah they really should have at least fleshed out the Weapon X team. I was confused about why they turned Maverick/Agent Zero into an Asian guy. I didn't really like how they changed Silver Fox but the character fit well into the plot of the movie. I can see why they did some plot changes. Like someone else said, they needed a major villain to fight at the end so they changed Deadpool. Sabertooth had to fight with Wolverine during most of the movie so he wouldn't have been a good choice for the end fight. They couldn't let Wolvie kill Sabertooth then the continuity of the movies would have gone to the crapper although they is no explanation why Sabertooth was reduced mentally in between this movie and the first X-Men movie. I definitely preferred this Sabertooth over the one in the X-Men movies. I thought that it was cool that they showed the Hudsons from Alpha Flight briefly even though they made them very old and didn't even have them say their names so I had to wait after the movie to be sure that it was even them.

Really if you read the comics and were familiar withe the Weapon X storyline then you could enjoy this movie. If you didn't then it would be easy to not really know about the storyline of the characters since there is little exposition other than they put together a team of mutants to hunt other mutants. I think the movie was full of fanservice with the over the top action and them throwing in characters that fans have been asking to see in the movies. Yes, there is room for improvement in the movie but I still enjoyed the movie. Personally I think that it would have been great if they called the movie Weapon X: Wolerine Origins and focused more on the missions that Team X did including going to Russia to mess up Omega Red. The only problem as stated previous is that would mean that Wolvie would have gone most of the movie without his Adamantium.

You can't be a Marvel comic fan and not know that they whore Wolvie out as much as they can to make a profit. He appears in most of the comics titles out now and is a member of the X-Men, X-Force and Avengers. I'm probably forgetting some team that he is actively a member. He's even appearing in the next issue of the Runaways.

I didn't hate the movie but really didn't like what they did with Deadpool.....Why the hell get someone like Ryan Reynolds who is brilliant and would of been a brilliant Deadpool (see Blade Trinity) and take his voice away? I think I gave the last 20 minutes of the movie stink eye....uggg

Oh well, here's hoping he does the Flash!

I liked it, obviously didn't like what they did with Deadpool (no surprise there) because he's one of my favourite XMen, but they can totally fix it if they wanted to make another movie with him. If the doctor was making a person with DNA from all of the other mutants, they could have made a clone or hell, they could even reattach his head, it's not like he's really human anyway.

And yea, Gambit was too pretty.

Edit: LOL Sabs, posted at the same time but totally agree.

According to http://www.marvel.com/news/comics/ Deadpool is the most subscribed comic at this time. They will most likely do a Deadpool movie and hopefully do the character great justice. I sincerely hope that they keep Reynolds for the role.

Same, when his noggin' got lopped off I was all "RAAAAAAAAAGE". Sad that he was only in the movie for like 5 minutes as a speaking part, and for that 5 minutes he was funny. Even will.i.am got a bigger part, but he was suprisingly not bad.

Oh and best line in the movie when told he had to help the country (America)

Wolverine : “I’m Canadian”

I have all 3 on DVD so yeah I seen them, and X2 and X3 were pretty much more of same thing. Rather then whine about it why don't you be more specific as to WHY X3 was sooo much worse then X2. I really don't see much difference. I will agree and say X2 was better then X3 but marginally. Like I said more of the same thing. It's noticable but not so gratuitous like your saying.

The opening scene in X2 with Nightcrawler in the Whitehouse was the best scene out of all 4 XMen movies. That scene alone makes the whole movie worth watching. X3 pissed me off only because it killed off Cyclops and Xavier. And my god was Angel an annoying piece of shit. Angel and DC's Aquaman are the most useless superheros ever created.

That stuff really annoyed me, but it wasn't all bad. I thought Kelsey Grammer did a great job with Beast. The Iceman / Pyro fight was cool when he turned into Ice. Juggernaut chasing around Kitty Pryde in that lab was cool. So I mean to say it was THAT BAD is pretty ridiculous.

Hmm personally I thought all of X2 was fantastic, perhaps the only part of the movie that did bug me was the Storm and Nightcrawler talks about god, other than that it was a vast improvement on what they started with the first X-Men movie. The way they hinted at Jean becoming the Pheonix at the end, Magneto's escape, everything was done so well.

X3.. I felt most of the dialog was cheesy, with exception to Beast. And yes, I think Kesley Grammer did an amazing job for the role. Infact Beast was probably the best thing about that movie. The Iceman vs. Pyro fight had potential but once they lamed it up with a DBZ Kamehameha vs. Gyallic Ho battle.. I mean come on.. that was stupid. Also, not that I like him.. but killing Cyclops.... and THEN Professor X, that just ruined it. Sure, we caught a glimps of Charles coming back at the end, but that was still lame. Juggernaut could have been better.

I know Dark Pheonix was evil and all that, but even then.. doesn't really explain how the fuck she came back as the Dark Pheonix and not The Pheonix first. I don't remember Pheonix being friggen horny either, but whatever. Also.. wtf.. killing Jean? What the fuck? I mean.. were they seriously just trying to kill off all the X-Men in order to not have another movie? That's 3 rather big roles in the X-Men universe that got killed off in one movie.

Oh, and what happened to Nightcrawler? He had joined the X-Men at the end of X2 but come X3 he was nowhere to be found. I guess you can only have one blue mutant at a time, must me some kind of law. Angel was rather pathetic too, I do agree there. They could have cut him out of the movie entirely, but that wouldn't have made it suck much less.

X3 had some good things about it, but the bad/terrible things far outweighed the good.
