Dear Dynamis Shells

god forbid that skaw be inconvienced by other people trying to get things they don't have . I'm gonna have to agree w/ kat on this one, since any massive event i've ever been on has always started late anyway it's a hell of alot faster to /sea and tell what people want by reading 3 letters and a colored dot than it is to click on every 63 different names and find out what they are afte. But i can see skaws point, i mean clicking and reading is really hard work (personally i break a sweat when i do it), because god knows organizing 64 people to be at the same place at the same to to beat one of the dynamis zones is extremely easy.

Is it really that difficult to use the yellow dot, which no one searchs for, as opposed to the other ones, causing those lists to get cut short?

How is that any different than using the Items/Others? Is Yellow somehow a potential for cancer development?

i was saying if people were using the yellow dot for coins, and the yellow dot for AF, the process of finding out what people wanted would be longer than it already is. Unless i'm misunderstanding what kat was saying they use the item tab for AF2 and the others tab for coins.

And you could still have a similiar structure of Others => AF, No Dot => 100 Currency.

But also, the threads mostly pointed toward the shells that aren't organized with their dots, and just have their members go wild on the search comment list at their will.

I always use item/other for dynamis.. I'm not sure who doesn't x.x but why not?

Uh.. because it forces truncation of the item search list? Do you read?

I kinda stopped caring to read after I saw the same thing being said over and over again :\

Skaw just wants to inconvienance us all and make us use the /sea options the wrong way so that he isn't slightly inconvienanced

Skaw, you DO now that you can search in just one sub category, right? So if everyone use item/others, you don't have to search in it, and won't have to get a trunctated lisy =(

gg ass

It still truncates because of the total amount of people in the cateogry as a whole.

It gathers the list of people, by alphabet, then categorizes them. Like I said, the search engine is flawed and fickle, aiding to that fact doesn't help in the slightest. :?

I agree with Skaw on this one. Personally I hate when people fill up the search pages with useless info when your triing to find specific stuff. I mean why even put AFK in a search message when you can just key in AFK status on your toon and it will show in all searches that you are AFK without even needing to click their name. Maybe people are afraid that noone will /c their bazaar or something. Some people do pointless shit in this game though that just makes me laugh.

Probably because they still want to recieve /tells from people. Besides its OTHER...if you are searching there you should expect everything that doesn't really fit in anywhere else.

I gotta admit i do agree with the putting "AFK {Party} {No, Thanks}" in exp is a pain in the ass...i mean if they put it in other then they will only get seen if they come up in a job search. If they put it in exp then anyone who does an exp search will go "Yeah a <insert job here>!...oh wait they are afk...", not to mention the trundicating.

I kinda have to side with kat though...AF is an item and i do not really see why they should make their task, of finding out what everyone wants harder so they you can have an easier time trying to find items.

Because as an LS you can quite arbitrarily pick any category you please and just say "if you want AF, use a battlefield comment; if you want money items, use a mission comment" or something, *picking categories that nobody bloody ever uses*. Items and exp get used. The others really don't.

You don't have to make it intuitive or actually make sense, because you're doing this for a small specific group and you can be arbitrary about what categories mean what, without paying attention to their "official" purposes. And considering that you can be arbitrary with your categories you might as well pick categories nobody uses.

That makes more sense than just leaving it up to all the individual members, where some may think of Dynamis as a "quest" or some may be listing their "items" or some may be consider it miscellaneous and "other" and you've got a nice little rainbow of comment colors, so the color means absolutely nothing and you'd have to read each individual comment rather than being able to see at a glance which people are after AF2 and which are after money items, or whatever.

So ... organize it into comment color categories and it's better for the Dynamis LS. Pick categories that don't get used otherwise and it's better for everyone else in the game. Win-win situation, and since the people in the Dynamis LS, too, are better off for doing it that way I'd dearly like to know how it "inconveniences" you. :P

No it doesn't. Do a /sea all
then press Items as category
A whoel lot of people will show up. Then press the subcategory and go down to the SUB-category sell or items.

And woila, you are searching in only ONE sub-category. Pronlem solved. Easy as that. It DOES NOT, I repeat, DOES NOT trunctate the other sub catagories if you only search in ONE sub category. Unless that sub category have too many people to show them all as well

And skaw, I know how /sea works, so no need to explain it by saying this like "It sorts them in alphabeticall order". Really, no shit?

The /sea is in no way "flawed" or "fickled". You just have to know how to use it.

Obviously, Uzor, you don't. It does organize by category fine enough. But not sub category. Why? Because Square haphazzardly slapped it in whithout actually updating the search engine itself.

I wasn't talking about /sea all. I was talking about doing an all areas search on the items category, then selecting a subcategory. I did it before I even started this thread, and suprised, it truncated, at a whopping 40 results.

Skaw, that's exactly what I said. The reason you get a trunctated sub category search is because people either
1) put their Dynamis items in the items 1 category (in which case I agree with you). Or there are too many people selling items to see them all.

So unless they put it in the "Want to Sell" or "Want to Buy" part, I have to dissagree with you.

Am I the only one who uses Battlefield for Dynamis search comment? I rather like the color. >.>
