i find it funny that someones flaming someone else because they did not invite them. It happens to everyone, but this guy is singling Deathchild out. Is it me or does the flame board really running out of things to seriously rant about.
 
deathchild is a really cool guy and im sure he didnt mean any insult by not waiting 10 min (10min really is a long time when you only need 1 person to fill the pt, ya know?)

i mean seriously.. how long do most ppl wait for ppl who disconnect? 5min is the "standard" time ppl usually wait.. you are 2X DC for that party..theres also the thing that, ppl have stuff to do.. and want to sleep eventually.. so they start xping ASAP.. making them rather impatient..

hey, he could have thought you were asleep too.. ppl do go to bed while seeking.. ive had ppl send me tells 2 hours later about "{Yes please.}" for a party i started..

here's a tip: dont go afk while seeking, if you know you wont be back within 1-2 minutes..

Great idea. You do realize, there's isn't a pre made party ready to invite anytime you seek, right?

He's pissed about what happened, and you'd all be lying fucks if you claimed you've never been angry in a similar situation. Especially when people ignore tells that would take all of 15 seconds to respond to. It's frusterating, and rude. If you invite someone, and then proceed to invite another person, at least have the courtesy to tell them you got another person.
 
ThatGuyYouKnow.. no.. i've never been angry someone didnt invite me to their XP party.. i usually make my own if theres anything to make it with.. if there isnt anythign within the level range.. i'll switch to another job.. and PT that job.. its fun to be versatile and play many jobs..

It's not the lack of invite, it's the withdrawn invite. The one where you seek for hours, go AFK to keep your head on straight, and come back to see the invite, only to find out it's withdrawn. Usually through being ignored rather then told. That's annoying. That will anger most anyone regardless of their level of patience.
 
I can see why Gannon would be frusturated, its completly understandable. Although its really noone's and both peoples fault at the same time. Gannon should of typed /away, or put it in his search comment "Away 10 min", something. I always make my own parties, and to me I think its rude when someone is seeking and they don't have the courtesy to respond. (You can't tell if someone is away or zoned or isnt responding because your NA or yada yada yada). At the same time, Deathchild should of responded in turn when Gannon sent him a reply, no matter how much longer from his initial tell.

Although if your finalizing the deal on your party you've set up (discussing SC, camp places, searching areas, deciding travel) sometimes you just forget to reply or something. Or maybe he was AFK for a few minutes waiting for his last member to come to Jeuno! There are a ton of scenerios. Best way to look at it is a learning experience =)

Cythe you are right I was trying to get at the part about being ignored instead of being told staight up that they got someone else.

To Trippyhippy, better said than done. I was keepin an eye on who was seeking and couldn't make PTs with what was seeking every time I looked. I will not bring myself to ask ppl who are not seeking cause I know how much it pisses some ppl off.

Passions, I'm sorry bout my little bout preiviously, I was still heated from that and everyones post kept me from cooling down. ~_~

10 min is way too long in my book, I wait 1 maybe 2 min for reply, so many seeking nowadays, you don't need to wait 10 min per person you invite, or it would take hours just to form the party.

and it's not Defending Asshole day, DC is a good guy, you just ranted about something that didn't warrent tellin him "Fuck you" .

You waited to long to respond, keep that seek up and go along your merry way.

I think people were more concerned with telling their own stories and saying how great DC is to actually read your complain Gannon. Reading comprehension sometimes falls short in the flame board don't feel too bad about it.

To reitterate:
Gannon is mad that he did not get a reply after he sent his acknowledgment of being interested in the party. Everyone is jumping to defend DC, saying that he didn't need to invite Gannon, but that point is moot since all Gannon is upset about is being ignored. What if Gannon had gotten another PT invite durring that time he was waiting to hear back from DC after accepting, but had declined it because he still thought DC had a spot for him? It's happened to me, and it's annoying. I don't think anyone can say being completely ignored is justifiable when the person doing the ignoring is the innitiator of the conversation...

Not that I have any experience with either of them, but everyone seemed so eager to jump face first on their friend's cock, they weren't actually reading the meat of the post.

Personally I wasn't jumpin' on anyones cock, well besides my husbands^^. Anyway, I'm sure you've built parties before and have been in party chat. Along with your LS chat on top of that. Then if they had already been built by this time, cuz Gannon was the 6th member and hadn't responded for some 7-10 minutes they could've been fighting mobs. Then you have all that other stuff scrolling. Therefore, DC could've just totally missed the tels. And if he had aready waited for a few minutes, he was probably searching for members, getting more tels and therefore there's a helluva lot of pink in that log. I don't know how often you build parties, but there is a lot of spamming goin' on as far as inviting, getting declines, getting acceptances yada yada.

Think about it guys. I'm sorry Gannon, not trying to rude to you, but you flaming for this imo was just totally uncalled for.

1-2min? damn you're generous, I don't wait that much unless I really want someone, and since I don't usually go after DRK for my own personal reasons, and since DRK is among the over-represented melee DD type, there's no reason to wait more than 30s and move on.

Seeking + AFK-ing is ruder than not responding to a /tell afterwards. And, oh wait, maybe he was AFK too ;)
