I'm sure most people have noticed by now the declining prices in the AH. Earth crystals in bastok for 300 gil, wind for 1000 or 2000, water down there too. It's the prices from back when I started playing with the release of the PS2 version! I'm wondering, what do you guys think? Think this is good or bad? I think if prices went down, it may make gil buying less neccessary and ruin that for some of the ... "negligible" players. However, on the flip side of the coin, it'll be harder for people to stack up some bank. So, post back and lemme know how you guys feel. I'm curious. Lata'

Kotsu!

im just waiting for the price of sole sushi to go back down to 30k like when i first started eating the stuff.

I'm fine with it. Some things drop in price while other things rise. You just have to adjust to the market.

Not as long as the fish used to make it are 90k a stack.

Yeah, crytals are droppping because everyone and their brother has been leveling the new jobs recently.

Not everything is cheaper. Slime oil for example has nearly trippled in price the last 1.5 weeks....

Yeah, its nice that some things are going down, but not everything is going down at the same time. Little things are high as hell like grilled hare. Grilled hare is like 4k and Mithkabobs are some crazy ass high price. I know its cause of all the new lowbie leveling but its just nuts.

Yea, the sushi is going up in price because the fish is going up in price. The fish is going up in price because most of the fishermen are up in the new areas checking out the new fish so the supply of sushi fish is lower, where the demand is higher. I be damned if I buy Sole Sushi for 90k though, and I think anyone else who does either has alot gil to burn or is just plain retarded.

It helps the newbies that'll be starting due to the publicity from the new expansion, and it really doesn't hinder anyone, as was mentioned before, you just adjust to the market, thats what a real currency system is all about, gotta be clever about your investments.

And all those fishermen need to keep their asses in Al Zahbi until I've caught enough sole to buy a Hauby. Mwahahahahah...

I've noticed the dropping prices on several items I've been wanting lately, so no complaints from me. It's good to see things stabilize a little.

My main farming item WHEN I farm is still going steady at 200k (was 200k months ago as well), so I'm happy ^^ Though the price drops do get irritating for the times I actually try to put my crafting to use.

I invested my gil in high value items to try to maintain value with ever rising inflation. Now that is the worst place for my gil to be. Worse than day trading.

Just level something low in the windurstian or sandy area, and reap the benefits. I have the cooking for mithkabobs; send me a message in game and I can help yah out with em :bb:

mithkabobs are up to 20k a stack last i checked. that's some pricey cock meat.

I dont mind telling you guys this because, although its my main source of "lazy farming", telling you wont affect me because we are on different servers:

Light Solea, dropped by the Yagudo NM Duu Xuzu The Torrent (or somthing like that) are selling for about 40k each on my server.

Now this may not be a hell of a lot, but its such an easy item to get, Duu's spawn time is reasonable and they sell really nicely. (+X to evasion I think).

So if you fill up your inventory (not including gobby bags):

40,000
x 30

????????? (Im too lazy right now. But its a nice amount.)

Just a little helpful tip.

It's good in theory because you dont have to pay as much money as you'd have to back in the gil buying frenzy better known as Christmas, but at the same time the stuff people farm is dropping. I have to buy some gear now that I hit 65 and its just so tedious trying to get multiple millions of gil when you can only get 30k for a stack of silk now(most commonly farmed item).

I'm largely unaffected as a mage...
I have most of the gear I'll need until I hit the 70's.. and that gear hasn't really changed in price by leaps and bounds also taking into consideration the new ToAU gear seems comparable if not better for a blm. We shall see.. I appreciate lowering prices. When I lvl new jobs, and have to occasionally buy consumables lower prices are great. Bear in mind I don't get involved with the endgame drama, and don't particularly want more gil than I can spend... I wouldn't be against a 10mil price cap in bazaar and AH prices personally... but that's just me.

Yeah, it definately has it's positives and negatives. Positives, it's easier for people to buy things, build characters, and focus more on playing than farming. Negatives are that for those people who don't currently have money, it's harder to raise the money for the items that haven't really gone down in price yet. I think in the end, with crystals going down in price and hopefully materials for crafting do the same; they will be ideal. The best way will then be to take a trade and craft items, or do things like BCNM's... in which it can be tough, requires beastman seals and what not. I think this'll be a good thing though. I'm hoping things level off.

Note to DarthYoda: I agree with the 10mil Gil cap. They should also limit a character to trading 5 million gil / day and sending 1 mil gil at a time, 5 times a day. In limiting Gil Sellers access so that they can only transfer a total of 10 million a day, the convenience perspective is out of it. That'd be a good way to get rid of gil buying/selling... That'll help the economy level off.

Cack charm (pcc) has shot down to almost half the price. Im sure it's good for buyers, but depressing for sellers. I won my pcc, but now I donno what other good bcnms I can do for money with just 3 people.

I feel your pain .. but I haven't won a PCC from that BCNM yet. Even so.. if all the other prices drop, then relatively the PCC will still sell well. 20 mil isn't as extraordinary a number as 40 mil.. especially split 3 ways.

But when everything is lower in price.. the "value" is still the same.

People need to stop being impressed with the huge numbers, and think about keeping our game alive. If prices had continued to rise, and inflation became more exaggerated, then we would no doubt have less new adventurers.. and when the newbies no longer match the numbers of those leaving.. we have a dying game. Personally I'd rather a thousand gil mean something again. I don't mind having to work a little harder to buy that <insert ridiculous NM here> item so a crafter can make a <insert uber gear here> , then log on to see a message from SE announcing FFXI's closing.

also I don't mind seeing other people wearing the same "uber" gear I am.. I just want to perform at my job the best that "I" can. Maybe that's where I'm different from some of the other players ....
