PS3 Demon's Souls デモンズソウル

will you buy a copy for me? :( :P

I went to pick my copy up from GameStop and ended up just swappin' my money over to Borderlands. Come the 20th every game I've got is gonna be worthless, I'd imagine and the guide not bein' the perfect guide pissed me off. I'm even debating buyin' Uncharted 2 now. Somewhere down the line though this game just started to look less and less appealing to me when stacked up with a lot of up-coming releases.

I worked in a kind of reverse way. I was thinking about Borderlands, but Demon's Souls has eaten up so much of my free time I just can't see myself dedicating it to another open-ended game.
Your loss, though :>

Nah, I'll get it eventually. I want it right now but I realize come the 20th I wouldn't play it much so there is no point in gettin' it now when I can get it later for much cheaper.

Took down Red Flying Dragon today. Took about 30 minutes and 80 arrows with my Long Bow +2. Afterwards, I was able to double back to the dragon's resting place in 1-1 (where there's also a Blue Flying Dragon! But he can't reach me right now), and get a Purple Flame Shield and a Ring of Flame Resistance. Should be great for 2-1, where there's a lot of fire enemies.

Got halfway through 2-1 this morning. Before that, I helped someone kill the Armored Spider as a Blue Phantom, which proved interesting. I don't have enough Vitality to wield the Purple Flame Shield effectively, but if I have it on my left hand I still get the flame resistance when using my bow.
The spider does this kind of charged super attack after it recovers from being knocked down. I was able to keep my shield up and block 100% of that, which was rather nice. It took a big toll on my stamina, though.

I played this for a couple hours and got my ass handed to me for a bit. Then I was doing well, but I ran afoul of the dragons and the one with the tail owned me <_<

Gonna restart later. Hopefully I'll do better now I know how everything is laid out.

I beat 1-1 finally. Thank god now I can level up and stuff :<

God, all I've got left is 1-4, but it's such a bitch to beat.
Red-Eyed Knights are not kind to archers such as I.

I'm really liking this game. It's pretty hard, but very fun to play.

The feeling of vulnerability that you have no matter where you are is pretty nice. Kind of makes it more realistic in that you are more human than some kind of superhero like in Fable. Especially when you fight bosses. I was pretty mad when the Tower Knight 1 shotted me with his shield my first go at him, but once I learned how he fought it was a fun fight.

Right now I am stuck at the Flamelurker though... I've managed to widdle his life down to about half at best before he ends up killing me off. So I decided to mess around in 4-1 last night before I fought him again and I found a pretty sweet crescent falchion that does magic damage. Hopefully it'll give me an edge when I fight him again.

What classes do you all play as?

I went with the Knight and I've been upping VIT, END and STR mostly. I usually fight shield/scimitar and switch to shield/great club depending on the type of mob. Switching to using both hands on the scimitar is pretty sweet too.

I was using the enchant weapon spell for awhile too since it really makes a difference, but now that I found that crescent falchion I'll probably switch my spell to maybe the protection one.

I started as Hunter, which makes the game fairly easy, imo. I'm using a Sticky Compound Long Bow +5 (S rank Dexterity mod, holy fuuuuck), Quality Winged Spear +5(C rank Strength and Dexterity mod), Dark Silver Shield(100% physical and magical block), and Adjudicator Shield (minor regen effect).
I've also got a Demonbrandt (which works wonders considering I've got Pure White Character Tendency), and a Northern Regalia (for when I start working on Pure Black CT). Both of those are pimp ass weapons, and the Demonbrandt in general helped me get past Boletarian Palace's archfiend, what with taking 600+ damage per strong attack.
Started my New Game+, though. Gotta say, even with all my upgraded weapons Phalanx+ took much longer than he did in the first cycle. Probably because I took out all the minions with Firebombs, and they took barely 10% of their total health bar this time.
EDIT: Although I might upgrade the Winged Spear I get from this cycle into a Sharp Winged Spear +5, since I'm pumping a lot of soul levels into DEX anyway. But I'm not sure if an E STR/S DEX mod is better or worse at 99 on both stats than C/C.

I went as thief, because I heard TH actually works in this game.

Over the past 2-3 weeks, this game has gone from something I'd never heard about to something I think I need. It'll have to stand in line behind Uncharted 2 and Brutal Legend, but I'll get it. I generally prefer caution to run-and-gun, so it's suited to my playstyle.

Time still hasn't erased the scars of From Software's King's Field, though.

Uncharted 2 I can understand (from what I've tasted of the beta, if I had more money I'd totally jump on the bandwagon) but Brutal Legend? Ehh...

Turns out Toys'R'Us is having a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" sale this week, so that may solve my problem. Ordering them online and waiting for them to arrive denies me the joy of playing Uncharted 2 right away, but it would be better for my wallet.

Just got Demonbrandt at level 29. Still need 3 more str and 2 more faith to equip it though :(

Man I wish stores in winnipeg actually had this game, 7 days late my ass :/

You didn't kill Ostrava, did you Tyrath? >:

I did <_< I figured out that made my sword crappy lol

Which sucks because in my first playthrough that i scrapped he died of his own accord...Meh How do I make my character tendency go to white?
