Derail from Darth thread: Meta/Evidence

No. No it doesn't. You can gimp your way to 75 without learning how to play your job right. I've pted with more than enough shitty lvl 75s to attest to this. Once you're lvl 75, Maat is a joke regardless of your job. It does NOT take skill to get to 75 and kill Maat. If you have the free time, it's a simple rinse and repeat process with each job.

but how many of those guys u said gimped their way to 75 have a maats cap.

thats what i thought. and u cant simply rinse and repeat with every job thats crazy talk; last time i checked ninja and blm are completely different.

etc. but ya sure alotta jobs u could do that with ;

Time and Experience are completely different, and to say they are the same is ignorant.

You could take the time to sit there and whack away at EP mobs from level 1-75, and never learn to play your job. That is Time.

Experience is playing your job, in the party environment and learning exactly what your job entails.

In case of maat's hat they are same.No one solos to 66.It's almost impossible and would take forever. He obviously partied all his jobs to get to that point and learned what the jobs entailed after all those levels and invites / group making.FFXI is not a very complicated game eventhough some ppl would like to believe they have the skillz that no one else does. It's actually the gear and time spent on top of the skill cap that many players have reached, that's starts making a different, later on in the game.

Beastmasters can and some do. While it would take forever to solo your way to 66, it's still well within the realm of possibility to do so. That's also the entire point, that you can do everything completely by yourself if you're willing to just throw enough time into it. Maat's Cap has never been anything but an achievement for an enourmous amount of time spent in the game, not for actually being difficult; you should get a plaque like you get when you complete the Lu Shang's quest.

Which is the point Rappa has been trying to make.

Maats Cap = Time

Killing HNMs = Skill

Yes its possible but we all know that darth partied on all of them. And HNMs don't require much skill. Its all about claiming and having the 12 to 18 people for the most part.Fights like the airship fight or doing DM without 18 blms is something that might require group work and coardination. There isn't much to learn about HNMs either, besides maybe tiamet/vtra who are like always up because of their difficulty. But they don't drop the stuff that kings do.I would say beating dynamis lord and dynamis are even more group based skill than HNMs.Thing about HNMs is that its hard to get a dedicated group of people willing to camp the thing and accept the fact that they might not always get the claim / drops. And on top of that when you say that leveling a job and having more than one is nothing ,then that means all of us ,who have been playing for years now, have nothing different from someone who just hit 75.Which is totally absurd

Tiamat is always killed on pop, Vrtra is killed fairly often too. While most HNM's have well-known strategies already, they're still more difficult than soloing an EP. They take less time, but they're more difficult, they don't have to be impossibly difficult, just have a challenge; and they do. That's the part that you don't seem to get.

For the millionth time,no one solo-s EP mobs to level to 66.You need a good setup to level fast unless you want it to take years. You mostly fight VT-ITs unless its bst or something. And if items that require time for the most part are meaningless then i guess it would make relic weapons easy too since they just take years to get.

The POINT is that you DON'T REQUIRE skill to get a Maat's Cap. Only TIME.

For HNMs you REQUIRE the necessary SKILL or else you will FAIL.

You're right, no one does.

But it certainly is an option.

Let's also not forget Exp Scrolls and Pulling The Strings ENM.

Fucking Eco Warrior.....

Eco-Warrior does take skill and a pretty nice alliance of people to do. Whereas the other examples were all solo things that you can do to get more exp.

He said Darth was solo at the camp. Now had I created this topic, I would've posted all of the following:

1) A ss of Darth solo in the zone
2) A ss of gilsellers shouting
3) A ss of Darth no longer solo in the zone
4) A ss of the emotes after the "transaction"

The point of #1 and #3 is to validate that it was at the same time (because the ppl in zone would be pretty similar if not identical). The 2nd one is pretty straightforward. Barring the first 3, there's no way I would've left out that last one. It's the whole bread and butter of the OP and it's not shown at all.

point 1: ass
point 2: ass
point 3: ass
point 4: ass

got it

that isnt true either lol, this game requires a lot of time, but little skill.

Tell that to the next moron that doesn't voke, the next idiot that doesn't cure, the next fool who doesn't refresh, or the next dumbass who overnukes.

Not to mention the fools who: Mis-check a target, pull/train mobs, casts incorrect spells, runs away randomly. The list goes on.

That's not skill, it's not being an idiot.
