Ok so my choco is currently breaking my heart!
He thinks of me as a parent now which is adorable!
BUT!

Hes crying and crying! I have only met the NPC on a walk once, and now I recieve this key item: White Handkerchief.
Im assuming its a quest. Has anyone got this info yet on how to get your scent onto the handkerchief? Any info would be great! Thanks all!

UPDATE!!

He still seems to be crying, but she took my handkerchief now, as soon as the gameday changed

anyone elses chocobo is sleeping and at 1% fatigue for no reason?
 
My chocobo is a female and I got the exact same thing when I checked a minute ago. I also got this white hankercheif. I'm guessing this is either quest related or a sign the game is telling me that the chocobo likes me too much (which is what I'm also being told).
 
Did you overfeed him, not feed him, is he sick? Are there any clues when you ask about his condition?
 
By the sounds of it, it seems this might occur from showing your chocobo too much affection leading to it missing you when your not there every 5 min,

Watching it sleep and sleep… even though you haven’t fed it for 2 days and you think its starting to look like a yellow Starvin’ Marvin’
 
Yep, mine is doing the same as female too. Next to nothing energy left and has been sleeping for two days. It's neither hungry or full though last I checked, but might be starting to get hungry soon, and I had the white handkerchief, talked not too long after and the npc took it back.

mines like that, but it just came over an illness, so i dont know if that has anything to do with it
 
My chocobo started to do this day day that its new plan was set to rest. When the next day starts she is going straight off resting. Be careful there is a confirmed glitch that some chocobos wont wake up! Might need to make a different thread so everyone sees it. Also if it helps my choco just got past a stomach ache (when I spent hours finding a Garidav Wildgrass for 20k (I only had 24k on me at the time) and feeding it straight after it recovered itself by accident).

She is currently starving but I cant do anything while she's sleeping.

Maybe we are the first of the selected chosen ones for cool chocobos. :cool:
 
Well Im having a new issue now. Hes still crying and his health wont come up. When I feed him it says he weakly nibbles on his food. Overaffection may be the problem as I just love him so much I cant leave his side! /sigh
There is a grass to retore health but Im not finding it anywhere so I guess I may have to pump out the gil for an elixer. Or have my husband make some. Well. If anyone gets any new help on this let me know !

My chocobo is also kicking up a fuss now. I only check on him once a day. Feed him 3 vegetable pastes till he is full (which he currently feeds on weakly). He thinks of me as a parent, but honestly, I don't see how I could have given too much affection. I just visit him once a day and care for him till the bar is at 15% or so by bringing him on 3 walks every day and some "watch over"s.

I got the white handkerchief but have no idea what to do with it atm.

Incidentally he is on the listen to music care plan.
 
i talked to the npc and he tookmy handkercheif and said my choco wil sleep better at night now. but it is sleping, i should be able to check now and see if he is awake.

edit: still sleeping grrr....
