well the prob is actually getting the weapon you want to drop. Because once you beat floor 100 you go back down to 1 right? So I'm guessing just getting the base weapon that you actually want will require luck and/or take some time.

Actually the weapon part is fairly reliable, although it's time-consuming up-front. Once you beat floor 100 once and get the key item for doing so, if you beat it again you get the weapon corresponding to the current job of the person who selected that floor, or something like that. And you can have more than one person with level 95 stored.
