Diablo III

Act 3 was Kurast.. the jungle. It had the darkest colors of all the acts. I didn't mean it was visibly dark. Act 4 was bright. Gray. But bright.

Well, yeah, but it wasn't exactly "dark". Sure, it used dark colors, but the act itself wasn't exactly dark the way the fans suggest the new game to be. The way they suggested it, even outdoors areas should look like you're in a dungeon...

That's how I thought you meant when you said dark >.>

More classes incoming at the Blizzcon event :D

Nothing in Diablo has really been "dark." And none of them required making things look like the sun imploaded to set the atmosphere - the destroyed towns, and the undead and demons running around did.

Maybe the guys that "enhanced" the screenshots are just so used to a 640x480/800x600 game being stretched over 20+ inches of screen space that they have no fucking clue what a good looking game looks like.

Agreed. I personally loved how Blizzard chose Diablo III to look.

This guy basically said what I stated earlier but better.

This is something Travis Baldree had to say to Warcry about Diablo III's art direction.

Warcry: Just for fun, what do you think about the discussion swirling around the "tone and color" of Diablo 3?

Personally, I think what they've done with Diablo 3 is fantastic. It seems pretty obvious that the mandate was to make the game look like a concept painting brought to life, and I think they've succeeded pretty wildly. The contrast and use of color really works well for an Action-RPG, where there are hordes of monsters and spells, and separation of individual entities is required for satisfying play. I can't wait to play it!

Blizzard is really second-to-none, and I have nothing but admiration for their work. I know a lot of people are lamenting what they see as a move away from the grim vibe of Diablo, but I think a lot of that gothic feel is really sold by a combination of sound, content and story, and the visceral nature of the game - and Blizzard certainly isn't skimping on the visceral if the videos are any indication. I also feel strongly that there's some pretty grim content they haven't bothered to show everyone just yet.

am i the only person here that actually like act 3 in Diablo II. With the exception of the constant string of shitty rare rings from Ormus.

I'm still waiting on my starcraft: Ghost that was in the making for like 5 years and almost ready for release then suddenly scraped -_-

Never played too far into diablo, but im liking the way diablo 3 looks, so much in fact i may actually play it.

Did you play 2? The only really dark-colored act was 3. 2 and 5 were the opposite of dark until you went inside of a cave/tomb. Even Hell wasn't all that gritty looking.

Actually yes I did. Some of act 4 was gritty looking. Least the plans of despair area was. Hell did look a bit darker in diabo 1 though but it was still dark enough.

I don't think many people will forgive Blizzard for it :| cause we all wanted our First/Third Person Starcraft game :( using the vehicles, fighting zerg, protoss, and other humans up close and personal... playing online with such fun stuff.

SC: Ghost was gonna be trash, that's why they canned it! Why haven't you all figured it out yet?

Did you watch the trailer it was like God of War with finishing moves..she jumped on a marine opened his helmet tossed a grenade in and then blew his brains out..:fapfap:

The problem with Ghost? Blizzard wasn't making it. It was licensed out to another developer. If it's picked back up, it'll be going to someone else.. again.

Plus, I haven't played a God of War worthy of the games popularity yet. The only thing that series has goin' for it is people who will over hype it.

It wasn't going to be a God of War game. It was supposed to be like Splinter Cell, but with better combat.

Nah I ment like the finishing moves where you would push w/e buttons was kinda like god of war was and had nice little action scene's to end it off from what I recall
