Diarrhea (serious thread)

That's messed up Exc XD

And Lec, I still <3 you

Alternatively spelt "diarrhoea".

You mind making that there a link pal?

I'm sure some people eat when they view the forum, and don't have cast-iron stomachs like myself. -_-

now that I know everything I ever needed to know about your bowel movements...

There is also a very serious, anti-biotic resistant, staff infection going around killing people.

Its called: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus

MRSA would have other symptoms than just diarrhea, stop scaring him. Now if you had open sores that looked like spider bites, and a fever to go with the diarrhea, that's a reason to be scared.

I haven't had a fever at all since my diarreah started so I haven't been real worried, since most of the "serious" conditions where diarreah is a symptom also require a fever. I haven't gone liquid shit since SUnday, and I'm not waking up in the middle of the night anymore, so I'm pretty sure I'm all better.

We've had a couple of patients in the office with this. Nasty stuff.

I was in Puerto Rico for a month for work and made a 3ish day weekend over in the Dominican Republic. That trip stuck with me for about 2 weeks. Nothing too horrible but just as you thought things were all better it would remind you of your trip. I did nothing but drink beer and liquor there but it must have been the ice cubes!!!

BTW I got my fluids from eating a ton of fruit, hot boiling soups, etc.

It could be your water thats messin you up. I know my brother trank some tap water in a different area when we were on vacation and he got terrible diarraha. He stopped drinking the water and he eventually got better. Would say the carb diet could do it but it sounds to me like your not really eating much anyway. I know the carb diet screws up your digestive track. My brother got sick off of that too cept he puked as well.

Just to note for future reference, drinking ONLY water to replenish lost fluids/nutrients in the body when you have such problems can be extremely bad (and can lead to things such as water intoxication). Primarily you want to drink or eat foods that are high in sodium, potassium, calcium, and [to a much lesser extent] magnesium - chicken soup, tomato soup, bananas, some kinds of sports drink, plus most kinds of cereal (if you don't have a fever) are generally the best options.
