I've always wanted to level Corsair, and I finally got my lazy ass self to unlock the job. Now that I've started leveling it here and there, I was looking into dice. Now, I've partied with some CORs before, and I have seen certain rolls throughout the party, but I only see about 5 or 6 that are constantly being used.

This leads me to the question, of all 20 dice, are there some that are more important to have than others? Are there some dice that you don't necessarily have to get through out leveling, but you'd only purchase only to have the complete set?

I'd like to start by getting the most important dice first, and then work towards getting the least important later, if this is possible.

So veteran corsairs, which dice do you recommend to get, and which ones are just for show?

i waited on all the pet ones (BST, DRG, PUP). Most of the time you'll be asked to do Warriors roll w/ either rogues roll, hunters roll or chaos roll...depending on each party you're in. Evokers roll is obviously a MUST HAVE at 40, Healer's roll is good till then. I didn't seem to touch my Wizards and Warlocks rolls till I was in an LS Manaburn party, I'm not sure if the other CORs on our server used it a lot, but thats just my own personal experience. Stock up on Dark, Light, and Earth cards, if you can't craft them or have them crafted for cheap, I just do my dealing w/ the qiqirn in Nashmau who sells the dice.

I get them all right as I can use them but thats just my perfectionist type..

But some you dont need are:

Gallant's Roll is absolutly useless, there will never be a time it will help any PT member. The spike dmg is non-elemental i believe but its weak even with a PLD.

Monk's Roll is kind of useless because subtle blow is only really useful when soloing and if your soloing on COR the roll wont help much because its not strong unless you have a mnk.

The pet rolls can come into use, but some people dont get them because it would be rare for them to be doing an event or anything with a pet job(s) only.

Galiant's Roll is alright for certain fights, Sea and a few ZNM fights.

Magus's Roll good for Serameya and a few other other NM's that you need the Magic Def.

Pet Rolls: I used them for ZNM's like Nosferatu, and that Troll ZNM i can't pronounce.

Wizard's/Warlock's Roll: JoL/Ouryu other things you can stick an army of BLM's on and have them go nuts with nulking.

Party wise I usually stick to Fighter's/Hunter's or sometimes Rogue's as a substitute for Hunter's. And Evoker's/Healer's for Mages.

Just my personal prefference.

O.o really? Which and how much dmg does it do? I'm not 75 yet just learning

I used it for Prudence and Faith, I have filters on cause my comp can't take the lag from chat log scrolling, but the PLD's said it made a bit of difference. Next time I do Prudence/Faith I'll try and remember to take a look at filters and see if it's a notable difference in def.

Thought it worked as non-elemental spikes only; i know it doesn't increase your defense ,but does it decrease some dmg you take?

Ideally I would have all the dice, but right now I'm funding my DRG as well @_@. COR is something I plan on taking to 75 as soon as I get DRG to 75. I won't know how much I'll have left over after that, so that's why I thought I would buy the basic and/or most important dice, and then get the less useful dice later. I agree with being a perfectionist @_@ I'm also too poor to be a perfectionist sometimes.

I figure at this point, I'd want to focus on the dice I will need for parties. By the time I have 75 COR and I want to do endgame on that job I will purchase ther est of the dice. I figure by the time I am done levelling it to 75, I should have the funds to buy all the dice COR can have.

I'm no COR, but consider chariots.

Yeah its decent on them, you just have to roll good to see the effect well. :<

Gallant Roll isnt used for defence but rather is useful for any Mnk type monster who two hours. Watch a mob destroy himself on those spikes while the Pld is under sential is awsome.

Also, another use for it, does the spikes add to hate for the pld? I think it does but havent gotten around to testing it.

Mainly dont bother getting it until you start doing end game stuff.
