Did you pre-order FFXII yet? And if so, did you get the limited edition?

For those that haven't heard, the importance of FFXII is that it was made with FFXI's "engine". That's why there are more similarities between both titles than normal.

- There are enemies in this game that appear in FFXI
- There are monsters that aggro you (not all) and you can "pull" them with range attacks or magic (some "link" too)
- There are NMs
- There are bigger world areas and they are united thru "zones"
- There are Coffers around

There are more similarities, but these are all I remember.

FFXII, Twilight Princess, Neverwinter nights 2, and yoshi's island 2 all preordered and fully payed... going to be a good end year.

As for FFXII, most of us should at least enjoy it since it's close to FFXI's style of play but, I don't care much for the horrible character builds on the hero's.. the main character just screams another tidus.. Hopefully a good story and the freya wannabe will make up for it. The gameplay looks amazing though..

Btw, anyone checked out FFXIII and FFXIII Vs (the sequal t0 FF13 being made at the same time)? Orgasmic material if I ever saw any.

Yeah, it's basically FFXI - offline, a lot of the gameplay mechanics seem to be the same. It'll be interesting to see how it transitions into a solo game.

Except Vaan isn't the main character, yes he is the lead character in towns, but who you have in front in dungeon/roaming areas/anything not in a town is whichever of the 6 characters you want to lead :P There really isn't a main character(same vein as FFVI), the closest there is to a main character storywise is Ashe and/or Balthier.
As for Fran, not really a Freya wannabee since she is best with bows :P But in FFXII every character can master every weapon type, as long as you unlock that weapon on the license board, just some are better at one weapon type than others.

I hope I can aquire/use one of those Bad Judge Armors in the game.

They look like Genji Armor, so it might be a possibility.

Sorry, I understand what you're saying and I kind of agree, though I still "see" the male and female guy (sorry, horrible with names.. I'll get to know them when I play) as the "main characters." I don't know if you can see what I mean. >< Regardless, it's not just those two, all of the "hero" characters have builds that I personaly find horrible, much like zidane and tidus, two of the most disliked FF characters. I don't like the style they went with, and double that after seeing that practically everyone and everything else looks badass.

Fran is best with bows, yes, but she struck me as a freya like character after seeing her melee, she seems to be the shining saving character for me in the game, much like auron was in FFX. . Thats not to say FFX sucked or FFXII will suck, just that I'd like at least one character I can enjoy playing aside from abilities, as Auron was simply badass, and she seems to be it.

BTW, I wasn't insulting fran, I loved freya, and I'm glad fran's similar to freya in some ways, she's right now my favorite character and the only one it looks I will enjoy playing, but we'll see. S-E has a way with things, after all they made me enjoy a game in which pooh bear played a role..
 
You should like Balthier when the game releases in 3months 2weeks :P Personally my favorite character in XII lol, hell I even have a mule in FFXI named Balthier...(Sky pirate character) Anyways, I don't have a problem with Vaan's design, and I like all the characters in it.
Nice to see a female lead(supposedly) in FFXIII though, as opposed to the girly-man :P

They also do reserve because I have a game that is in reserve until tomorrow (48-hour reserve). God knows how I am gonna get there though.

Sorry lemme clear it up. EB isnt offering the pre-order YET. They do pre-orders, but this one for FFXII isnt offered yet.

And yea, gamestop went out of buisness, not EB. It was in a mall. EB on one end, Gamestop on the other. Gamestop went out. EB still strong.

What may have happened is just a location drop for Gamestop. Maybe they didnt actually "go out of buisiness" but the store they were using got closed down.

100% chance that in the next year or two, the name on that EB will change to GameStop lol

Yeah Baltheir is a badass, i love that guy. But i seriously doubt he is the main. Its Vann.... the story revolves around him from what i've seen.
 
Nah, it doesn't :P You'll see lol, and it's more Ashe than anything storywise, but Balthier just considers himself the main character, cause he's badass that way :P

Balth has a shotgun in hand, Justin had another thing in his hand in his last SuperBowl performance.

I think they are evenly matched.

EDIT: Tiael forgot for a sec you were BLU too. Do you think XII will have Blue Magic?

I know it has Green Magic...

It does, but not called blue magic(least don't think it is), on the license board you can license such abilities(or spells) as 1000 Needles, not sure how you go about actually acquiring the spell/ability though. Although not many abilities I believe, not like blue magic in past FF's anyways.
 
Really!?? That's great news, this game is gonna be be frikin' awesome (nevermind that the lead looks girlier that IX's monkey-tailed Saijan lead).

I'm gonna search for info on that. ^^
 
Just did, it's a skill, and I'm noticing a few other skills that could be considered blue magic, such as Step Attack, which sounds quite a bit like Step Mine Lore magic in FFVI, but not many abilities. Ah well, hopefully blue magic is back in full force in XIII :P

Not sure which color, but time magic is a seperate category now too isnt it?

Red or Yellow magic I think.

Green magic is all your protective spells like Protect, Shell, Mighty Guard etc. etc.

White Magic is strictly healing and curing spells I guess. (Esuna ftw!)

Black Magic is the same as far as I can tell.
 
Not a color, it's just Time Magic :P
And Green Magic is mainly all status change spells, Protect/shell, alongside poison, blind, silence and so on.
There's also Dark Magic, which includes dark, berserk, confuse, drain, aspir, death, etc.
