This is a story about the kindness of strangers.
I ended up in the Labrynth of Onzozo this evening with my husband Kicamo, and my dear linkshell friends Mielle and Eliott...determined to get my moldy. There was someone camping it already (Thelema) but we felt confidence in numbers. Somewhere near two hours in or so another camper showed up (Boondocksaint). Turns out he is the "big bro" to an ingame friend from my very first time thru the dunes so we chatted and had some laughs. About half an hour later Mystikmaker popped and was quickly claimed...by Thelema and Boon. We cheered them on and they got the drop!
Then something surprising happened. Boon asked me to invite him to party. He joined our party and offered to help us get the next claim. :shok: We messed around for the next couple of hours killing stuff (got some great skillups!) and when it came time for the pop window to open took our positions. Boon asked for leader and invited Darkrose. Shortly after he dropped from party suddenly and then sent me an alliance invitation. Thelema was back (he'd been afk the whole while) and was going to help us claim. Boon taught us a lil claiming trick (I'm probably the only person in Vandy who didn't know this) and we were set. Again we had counter campers but were confident.
Then it happened...mysticmaker popped right between me and a cc'er...dia ftw..I got the claim and we promptly OVERkilled it. But alas...no drop. Thelema tells us he'll be back in 2 hours if we want to stick around. We mess around for a while again killing stuff then someone suggests getting me a whm testimony while we wait. So Boon leads the way and it doesn't take too long till I've got the testimony
We head back to spawn room...shortly after the room starts to fill...I am feeling a bit nervous because there are so many. Another friend of Boon's and Rose's shows up...Sylvain to help..then another named Rone. We had a small alliance there! lol
I was ready...then OMG there it was..Mysticmaker and for some damn reason i couldn't target him!! Oh NO...his name turned purple and my heart sank. I have so many filters on I couldn't see who claimed it..so I ask my husband and he says we got it! Rone claimed it! My heart was pounding as the treasure popped up...but alas...again..no earring.
But as I sit here I do not feel the slightest bit of disappointment. I didn't get the prize I was after but I did get the opportunity to meet and get to know some really outstanding people. People who went out of their way to help someone they didn't even know.
I just want to say again a HUGE thank you to Boondocksaint and also to Thelema, Darkrose, Sylvain and Rone as well as to my husband Kicamo, my wonderful ls mates Mielle and Eliott.
I am forever in your debt and hope that you all would not hesitate to ask me for help in the future. THANK YOU!
