I asked a bartender, and he thought I was talking about the Euro cup. Any of you EUs know?

Who gives a shit. Neither one is really football anyway.

Actually...it is the real football and the more popular one.

Liar.

I can't stand watching Soccer lol, but playing it is pretty fun, and I really respect soccer players, they have some tremendous stamina.

And get paid far too much. No idea myself i'm not a football fan i watch rugby. Real sport.

Soccer is more popular on an international level..

I know it is, but I prefer to be an obnoxious American and insist that Football is the true greatest sport. As it is, Baseball is my favorite sport anyways.

True dat! Last week, when europe was decrying our 'violent' culture, all I could think was, at least we don't get into large brawls and kill each other at pro sporting events.....

The UEFA Champions League (formerly called the European Cup) is considered to be the most prestigious club trophy in european football. The teams that take part are the teams that have won their respective domestic leagues that year.

The UEFA Cup has been jokingly called "the cup of losers" because it accepts the runners up of domestic leagues rather than the winners. Though more recently those knocked out in early rounds of the Champions League are transferred to the cup, so some domestic league winners take part these days.

lolbaseball. Everyone who gets banned from the Olympics for doping up should just join MLB where they can dope up and end up hitting the most home runs in history.

I never was a soccer fan, but since I think baseball is a joke, I've started to watch as one of my "something to watch until football starts" sports.

Until baseball and its players union decide to random test on these idiots I'll never think of it as a real sport. Only wrestling rivals the amount of steroids being used in the MLB.

While I agree with you to some extent, the thing I enjoy most watching in baseball is actually the fielding/pitching, and it's hard to argue that anything but HRs/hitting is where the steroids are really impacting. Last night Jay Peavy struck out 9 consecutive batters, it was fuckin sick.

There are still aspects of the game I find enjoyable. But the fact the fans and MLB turn their back on Barry Bonds, the coon from the Angels, and all the other cheaters is "fuckin sick".

Believe in it or not, but athletes are role models. I'm not having my kids look up to someone who cheats as a role model. What kind of example is that for children coming up?

I'm glad the A's are moving next year because it makes it easier on me to write this game off.

Meh, I think they're working on eliminating steroids in baseball, and if your kid is going to think it's okay to do steroids just because Barry Bonds does, to me that says you're not doing your job as a father, but that's a completely different topic.

I agree, yeah, it sucks, but I'm able to enjoy the sport and the players I "know" aren't on the roids. I just take it with a grain of salt, and I try not to take it too serious. After all, it's just a game, right?

The union won't even allow testing, during contract negotiations with the union they absolutely refuse to give it up. How is baseball doing anything to get rid of it? Look at the Angels and Gary Matthews jr, they kept their mouth shut, didn't even try and void his contract because they don't care if he's doped up, as long as he's doped up on their team.

Conseco came out and admitted his steroid use, and instead of doing something, baseball blacklisted him.

I'm not worried about my kid taking steroids, I'm worried about him idolizing someone who cheats to get ahead in life. Even super parents can't stop a kid from idolizing someone, just look at pop culture. Kids idolize the dumbest people, Paris Hilton, Britney, the list is long.

I want my kid to have heros in sport where wrong doing gets punished, not have its back turned on it.

The NFL is a great example. Ricky Williams suspended for violating the drug policy. Pacman Jones suspended a year for breaking laws. That is the kind of thing baseball needs to get through their heads, sometimes you have to put some sort of morality infront of your pockets

Agree with Meeze completely on this one. It's ashame that a great record set by a great man like Aaron is going to be broken by Bonds this year. I've never been an Arod fan (and lord knows I HATE the Yankees), but I'm hoping that he keeps his hot start going and breaks Bonds's single season record (and pushes Sosa and Mcqwire down the ladder). Then I hope he continues and takes the career record and erases Bonds completely. Lastly, I hope he stays clean doing it...
