Disconnect and lost experience

At about 1:55 pm today i disconnected from ffxi, i had been fighting near Spiny Spipi's spawn area, killing eps for quick exp. I logged back on ten minutes later, and my

character was standing at the zone to Windy Walls in East Sarutabaruta. I lost all the crystals and items that i found while playing (in the past hour or so), and i also lost

all the exp that i had gotten. it reminded me of a "rollback" from Diablo 2. anyways, it sucks and I don't want to go back and get experience yet, because of fear that this

will happen again. jw, did this problem happen to anyone else today?

Like if you have 1 Osoode then you Rollback, you get 2.

I actually had a friend that that happened to a while back in Bibiki, she got DC'd, and when she got back she was at the zone to Bibiki, still on her chocobo.

i sent a GM request, they told me to state the problem to playonline service and support, so I'm waiting for a reply on that. I probably won't get my experience back oh well at least im on a lower level job

went to a live chat to find some answers, It's a problem with my router I guess, though this is the first rollback I've ever had while playing FFXI.
here's the end of the chat, telling me I wasted my time:

Step 1. Have Osode.
Step 2. Trade Osode to someone.
Step 3. Disconnect and have a rollback to some point between steps 1 and 2.
Step 4. You have your Osode back, and the other person still has one as well.

If there were any way to make it happen *reliably* (which there ain't), it'd be an awesome way to dupe tradeable items. Of course, there's also *this* possibility:

Step 1. Don't have Osode.
Step 2. Have Osode traded to you by someone else.
Step 3. Disconnect and have a rollback to some point between steps 1 and 2.
Step 4. You have your *lack* of Osode back, and the other person no longer has theirs.

And that, I think, would be a bit unpleasant.
