Discussion about Dynamis shells funding a members relic

And what happens when the shell breaks? Or Cythe decides to quit the game/shell? Then the great team effort achievment was just lost, and everyone will be on their own again. Doesn't sound too tempting to be honest =/

Ok so we should avoid large group accomplishments based on the fact that they will, like all things, eventually come to an end one day. I guess HNM shells shouldn't give people Rare/Ex items, god forbid they quit. That logic is stupid. Whether or not the Ragnarok exists forever or a week, the accomplishment still happened. No one will play forever.

Bajaratt, I know that the decision was made after loldynamis was created, it was said earlier. I just think its wrong to say that not giving the coin to Hamlett was fair to the rest of the members, when the rest of the members in reality is basically getting screwed over by the coins, as they are farming the coins for one of their leaders relic weapons (which doesn't benefit anyone else but that person alone uness they're going for a horn).

Please do tell me how Ragnarok benefits the LS? Killing a monster a few seconds faster then before won't really help your linkshell out a lot. If you can do something without a relic weapon, the weapon itself won't have a large impact on your success. A shield and a horn will though, but even those won't be too much of an impact in Dynamis itself.
You look as them getting screwed, most of them probably don't care in the slightest. You're appyling your own view to other people who are obviously different and likely don't care/mind. You even know that it was a team decision, but you're still whining about it, do you not think a democratic process is fair? I don't remember at the time of anyone who was against giving the coins to one person to upgrade with, so you're defintely in the minority. You're not even in lolDynamis, so your opinion of how things "should be" run carries no weight whatsoever, you're just complaining to complain.

That's different, because those goals are easier to reach. A relic weapon, if paid by only LS coin drops, takes roughly a year or mroe to complete.

What happens when a person with heralds gaiters quits, LS loses them. What happens when a person with Osode leaves a shell, he takes it with him. That one person alone cannont obtain all the reqs to get either one of those items, but it takes a team. And as a team effort they should respect his/her decisions.

a democratic process? It might have been a vote, yes. But how many voted against it? Is it really fair if 51% voted for and 49% voted against? And it isn't a team effort if the obtainer quit the game or the LS, it was all for a lost cause then. Let's say Cythe quit the LS once he gets it (even though I have to admit that its highly unlikely, as Cythe's a trustworthy person in my oppinion) and joins another LS, in what way is it a team effort?

Which again is another problem and completely unrelated, as a Kirin Osode doesn't take a year for a LS to obtain unless they suck. It also isn't worth 647500000 gil.

Even if that does happen it would be a team effort. The goal was obtained. An accomplishment not many shells can brag for because of the greediness of the members "Omg I want my 3M 100c!!!!!!" and like it was said before, the chances of getting a 100c are very very low. If people weren't so greedy then this wouldn't even be an arguement.

But as you're most likely fully aware of, that is also not the case. In a perfect world that would be the case, but sadly, the world is not perfect.

And Herald's gaiters? Those are really rare. Sometimes it take numerous tries to learn what to do with Tiamat. And then you have to get them to drop, and as you know very well Tiamat likes to drop nothing but a Fire crystal sometimes. How manyof these does OH have? And how long have yall been killing wyrms again?

I would be nice if it was a perfect world. And I agree that it is not perfect. But you're arguing with Cythe, Elem, and Baja that Cythe is greedy because he is doing something his members voted to do for him. Just because group A is greedy doesn't mean groups B and C will be as well.

We have 0, and we have killed 2 Tiamats. Not because we want gaiters, but because we like killing things. And Herald's isn't a team effort, Tiamat is.

In the same sense as relic weapons aren't really a team effort, but a single-person effort.

Killing Dynamis Lord is a team effort

killing Tiamat is a team effort

killing Kirin is a team effort

obtaining a relic weapon is not a team effort

obtaining a pair of Herald Gaiter's is not a team effort

obtaining a Kirin's Osode is not a team effort.

And btw, it still doesn't take as long, and not even near the same ammount of gil, to get Herald's Gaiters as a relic weapon.

They may not be a team effort in themselves, hell you can buy them all with gil, but to actually work to obtain them <which will make you feel a hell of a lot better about it> takes a team effort. It takes a team to kill tiamat to get the Gaiters to drop. It takes a team to kill Kirin to get the Osode to drop. It takes a team to get the items in the northlands, and it takes a team to donate coins and help the person they voted to get relic their relic faster.

This was origionally taken from http://www.qcdn.org/showthread.php?t=27541, because it was totally not on topic with the OP's first report. The conversation is interesting though, at least in a theoretical sense, should we have it moved to general discussion with a lead in posted by one of us? (i can do it) so that the topic in general can be debated? or should i just suggest that they start this topic over in a more general sense since the posts are directed towards only one group, and one person, which could easily degrade into a flame of some sort. '-';

thoughts?

It's a good topic and one that a lot of LS's consider. I'd say go for it, Nasya.
