Dissidia: Final Fantasy.

Grrr, too much PSP support >.> I cant afford to get that and a DS ;(

Yay more PSP!!!!! GOOOOOO PSP!!! *waves PSP flag*

I wouldn't start a PSP rebirth parade yet. Let's figure out how yet another project is going to affect title quality at Square-Enix first.

Kingdom Hearts III
Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearer
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2
Final Fantasy 13 and it's many unending subgames
Dragon Quest IX
Some Mana titles

What else am I leaving off this mile long list.. Tactics remake doesn't count, since they're largely still using the original game, just tweaking and adding things.

They keep it up, they'll run out of money and not be able to actually sell the games due to lack of discs and game cards.

The Last Remnant, new Star Ocean title(presumably to be announced at the SE party, although if true, it's development is being handled by Tri-Ace, SE is just the publisher.), their new MMO(they've confirmed it, 360 and possibly PS3), Crisis Core for PSP, probably some others.
Oh yea FF CC: Ring of Fates.

Ya, why are you leaving Star Ocean 4 out :P though the only confirmation I saw was at Wiki sooo XD

Hurting? for what? they're still making tons of money XD I just worry about the quality of their upcoming games.. sooo many games >.>

More projects doesn't mean each project is worse. It means they're hiring more people. As the gaming population grows, there will be more games. They also seem to be making top notch RPG engines for all the systems, so they can re-use the same engine making development times shorter for each subsequent game they do.

For example they could do all the original NES FFs on DS easily. So few people have to buy for them to make profit, but they keep selling in huge numbers.

I think that Square has hit a gold mine with using the Havoc/Unreal Engine. Now that they don't have to build one from the ground up each time, they're just going nuts with the amount of games they can make. I think FF13 and FF13: Versus are the only games that will use their White Engine, which I think they've scrapped.

SE didn't make White Engine I thought.. I thought that was Level 5's baby

No.. that's all SE's, they developed that engine for the PS3 and FFXIII/Versus, I don't think they'd toss it altogether after those 2 games, but they will use the Unreal engine a lot more.

Well then how come Level 5 has it too? :P and seemed to be the first info about it was from their showing of White Knight's Story. I've also never known SE to give out their engines (or sell them off) but ya.. I was just curious about that.

Uh... Level 5 doesn't have it, White Knight Story isn't using the White Engine, it's using some engine of Level 5s.

Hmmm.. than I must have read wrong XD lemme see if I can find the article I read that said something about it. Though maybe I just read too fast or something and read "White Knight's engine" and cut out Knights so it was like "White Engine" or something XD I dunno.. still gonna check

Bingo, answered your own retort.

When companies start to fizzle they bank on, and often times over do, their flagship product in order to keep their head above the water. That may not be the case here but with all the junk they've been putting out lately in the series, it wouldn't surprise me if they were either hurting in the FF department or lookin' to start something new. Loosing what made FF, FF... I'm not expecting too much from them ever again. It has all been downhill after 7 now with the main man gone, looks like the hill is getting steeper.

I see what you mean. I dunno.. FF8 was ok (not my favorite but as a game it wasn't bad :P) FF9 was fun, I loved it. FF10 was even better and, I'd say, on par with FF7 in terms of story, characters, and world as well as development of all 3. The ONLY downside was the linear movement. That blew :| I liked free roaming like we used to have. But it wasn't a game killer. Sphere grid was a wonderful new spin on things. It was fun :P great music too. FFXII was just crap :\ characters were either pointless or just retarded.. really coulda been done with just the princess lady being the only character, she was pretty much the only important one. Sometimes Belthiar but not as much as Ashe. The gameplay was pretty fun but.. I dunno.. I think with the time they had been working on it, it coulda been better. The music blew.. period. The story was HORRIBLY lacking, I wouldn't be at 100 hours if I didn't screw around so much :P the story was short, it could've had so much more to it I think.. and some things felt horribly randomly rushed or just.. ya.. oh well.

I, too, am not gonna put too much hope into the upcoming FF games. They really have far too much on their plate I think.
