PSP Dissidia II: Final Fantasy

Gosh, the story of Super Street Fighter IV was probably the pinnacle of writing.

Almost done with the individual paths of 013. Still rocking level 1 equipment on my level 53 Prishe.
Why did they even do this this isn't fun at all. Good thing I got a friend card of someone loaded down on elixir items.

Xali, you should do the labyrinth. You get to keep gear you make in there if it has the cave/tent symbol beside it on the shop.

You need a geomancer card to exit with them, or find an exit. Can get some really great stuff. When you exit and come back, you have the option to fight with that gear again... But, if you die and get game over, you do lose that equip. Found that out the hard way;;

See, my issue is that the Labyrinth is a neat concept, but it so shitty and tedious to get gear from it. I really wish they had kept the Duel Colosseum, or at least didn't put such huge restrictions on you while going through the Labyrinth.

Can't argue with that, lol. I do find it more fun than quick battles everytime tho

True, but story modes can be nice :P I still do enjoy Dissidia's style of fighting for a fighter even if computers are always cheaters in every fighter :O

And T3B is pretty fucking fun, the gameplay is right on and I'm enjoying the crap out of it.
The story may be a mess of convoluted space-time continuum crap, but I actually do like seeing where they're going with the story.

Eh, I've just heard from Reviews that 3rd Birthday doesn't live up to Parasite Eve at all nor does it real feel satisfying. I can't say for myself :P Speaking of Parasite Eve, it's on PSN right? I miss it.

It may not live up to PE, but neither did PE2, and yes PE1 is on PSN, and PE2 will be in the near future.
It's plenty satisfying though overdiving into a Twisted and having them explode into bloody bits, or shooting a mammoth Twisted until it croaks.
It's a shooter, but it's a satisfying shooter.

Plus for some odd reason they can't reference PE1 or PE2 directly, probably because of the author, but they can release PE1/PE2 on PSN.
Thus why it's called T3B.
There's vague references to the opera house incident and some others, but nothing that ties it completely.

Anyways, still going through the 013 story again, then I'll be onto Scenario 000, but before that I'll need to level the new characters, particularly Prishe and Gilgamesh.

I wish I could use Canto Mortis in-battle.

It's a great shooter and a lot of fun. I was telling a friend of mine last night that if they had released this on consoles it would have been epic, I feel it's just what we need to get out of this boring, routine shooter mania that has plagued us as of late. Unfortunately the masses aren't really goin' out to buy PSP shooters, though they should. The music is in the same frame as the past two games, it's really great. As far as lore and gameplay you have to look at it like notCastlevania: Lords of Shadow, it's good on its own, but if you try to hold it to previous iterations it takes a massive dump on what the series was. The story is a bit, "wait, what?" and really doesn't pan out, well it does, but it's weak. Still, the story is fun if you look at it like a cult Sci-Fi Horror flick, tons of ridiculous violence and over the top stuff goin' down that's cool to see. The voice acting, both in English and Japanese (no, it's not dual language out of the box) is absolutely annoying, and Aya being portrayed as a sissy is the really annoying kicker for me, but again, the gameplay is so good I can't really not suggest it or take away from it, it's a fun shooter with so many neat mechanics and features that are really well done and appropriate for the theme.

As for PE2, I know I'm in the minority, but I rather enjoyed it. I thought it complimented the first very well and took a step forward making the gameplay more fluid by adopting a classic Resident Evil feel.

God damn it do I ever hate using Vaan. I'm stuck at a part of his story because I can't beat this fucking enemy in 90 seconds for a KP thing. So far I'm not a fan of him or Lightning. I wanna hurry and see if Prishe is cool. If not I'll just go to my old fallback of Onion Knight. <3 OK.

How to win with Vaan:
Don't use Katana.

Actually, I like his Katana move a lot more than that spear move of his. The stabby one, not the whirl wind one. So far I'm not a fan of any of the new chars. Lightning, Vaan, Laguna or w/e the fuck his name is, and Yuna. I'm really glad I got OK to like 60, now I just need to work on getting gear that isn't lvl 1. lol

I feel Vaan (love the SW, usually is a better option when SW to a weapon and not using the move with that weapon) and Laguna (guns, satellites, ragnarok buster, aiee) are 2 of the best additions, in the right hands they can tear someone up.
And Lightning (RAV is good, COM is good, MED well, mind-games), Tifa (feinting is fun), Kain (jumping, and Gungnir when it carries someone across the stage) and Yuna (Energy Blast) are pretty awesome too.

And Prishe, oh so awesome Prishe, definitely one of my favorites alongside Vaan, and Gilgamesh is well, Gilgamesh, nothing else need be said.

Ya, Kains Jump is stupid good. I've had some enemies rip me up with it. I really want to speed up the story and get Prishe. And I'm still <20 for all my chars(save Onion Knight) so I haven't really unlocked much on anyone.

I got a hold of a friend card with level 100 grindan rules set.
EX Cores constantly appear, the level 100 Squall only uses his easy-as-piss to avoid HP attack, and wall rush/crits are set to max levels.
You basically just need to EX Burst him once to break him and kill him. Easy 3-5 levels with no exp bonuses.

I should get back to Dissidia sometime, picked up The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky for the PSP last week, loving it, good old RPG goodness, with an awesome localization to boot.

Prishe is great at building Brave, but holy hell are her HP attacks telegraphed big time.

I'm glad Warrior of Light wasn't change around too much. I'm digging that Shield of Light is no longer a lateral attack, but instead is used towards the enemy at a good amount of angles. Still doesn't seem like theres much reason to use any of his Brave magic attacks though.
