Do a search on Carbuncle

...I'm not gonna look. Don't wanna risk getting suspended or something.

Yeah you ever see those posts where like 45 people are debating the origins of Ifrit, Fafnir or whatever? How come no one is debating this! He's so cute and cuddly...and apparently pusy.

Carbunkl: A carbuncle is a dark red gem resembling a garnet. In an Arthurian legend, a knight was on a quest to retrieve three things, and one was a carbuncle belonging to a princess. A carbuncle is different from a ruby, so FF5 and FF6's "Ruby Light" (name of Carbuncle's attack) is technically incorrect. Arcanus Dominus writes: "In the lore of Spanish and Portugese explorers, a carbunkle was a small furry creature with a gemstone in its forehead that lived in South America."

if you really want to know where carbuncle came from.

So ... wrong ....... my eyes burn...

hellstorm, obviously that is a mere coincidence. It's clear to me and everyone else that the JPs who created the game simple named that furry creature we've come to know and love after a boil with multiple holes by which pus escapes. They're a cruel people....

I think this has something to do w/ the Canterberry tales. In the story there is a Summoner (person that summons people to court etc etc) and he is described as being covered in Carbuncles (sorta like nasty zits). Just a thought ^^

>.> Hmm..

Gives me an idea for a new Macro for summoning Carby.

I'm laughing my butt off at all these posts.
I'm kinda curious in a way to check this out but... I have a feeling I'm gonna regret looking at it.
Maybe I shouldn't...
