Well, I do refrain from checking JP people since they take offense to it... so I really only check them if they have a bazaar ;p
 
One check is no problem with me. Two checks I just assume you accidently cancelled out too quickly, or needed a double-take. It's not a problem. Once you check me three times I start to take notice and wonder what's going on. Anything more than three and I get annoyed.
 
The only thing "annoying" about this whole "dun checkz m3" non-controversy is the one dipshit in a thousand that actually tries to pretend it matters to him/her.

Gil sellers. Every time you walk past them while farming somewhere (ie: Zi'Tah farming cuttings), they check you at least once. It gets really annoying. Other than that, I don't mind people checking me, as long as it's not incredibly repetitive.
 
Going to point out that choice 2 and 3 are the exact same thing. Comprehension of the english language 4tw! Seriusly 6 in one half dozen in another. Why was there not a "Just dont care at all" or "That is why we have chat filter" options?
 
90% if of the time I dont wear anything but sword, rdm af hat, and subligar, so you can examine me all you want, lol, you arent going to see shit. I only wear gear when PTing.
 
Why do you bother not turning on the chat filter for /check if it bothers you so much people?

You can leave on bazaar for those who wanna know if people are looking. Anyone with anything in their bazaar fails at life if they get angry for a /check.

Use the filter or stfu.
 
You get a message... "So and so checked you..." does it burn that badly? If so, get some better gear.
 
personally i don't care. I have nice gear for my job and I take it as a compliment. If someon ehates being examines you then for christ sakes filter it theres no need to get mad over it at all.
 
I don’t mind being /checked at all.

I know some RMT will spam /c on you if your camping near them (or they come to camp on top of you), a good way to get someone to move if /c really irritates them.
 
If I check someone and they spam check me back. I just laugh at their efforts. Occasionally I will ask, are you really that annoyed and have to take your anger out like this? Go home and die ...

On a different note, I like to wear rare/ex stuff especially the rare stuff for people to see/and vice versa. It's amazing sometimes what you find that's in the game you never knew about.
 
lol. i dont mind gettin /checked... my gear sucks anyways... lol. AF with a Hauby... lol. but if they wanna see it, by all means, burn ya eyes up wit it. lol

I /check 90% of all whms when i see them. It's nice to see if there is gear out there i can better myself with or laugh at bad whm players.
 
Changing equipment is a stupid way to make people stop examining you. The only reason the window closes is because they have you selected. I usually type "/check name" and if they change gear, their window will stay open. Then when you determine they're an ass hat about examines, you can keep entering and leaving their bazaar and they can't do anything about it unless they close their bazaar.
 
For a long period of time, I remember /checks being immediately followed up with begging for gil. This gave me a sinking feeling when I saw it for a long time, but I don't care now.

That being said, the whole "It's in the game, I'll do what I want, and if you don't like it, I'll harass the hell out of you." thing is nothing but pure faggotry, especially when cultural differences come into play. That's the kinda thing that strains race relations and frankly embarasses me.
