Hey, I've put off doing my taxes for awhile now because A. I knew I wasn't owing anything and B. I'm not entirely sure how the Federal/Provincial Tuiton portion works.

My problem is that I have to file my 2004 and 2005 taxes, both periods I was going to school and not working enuff to owe any tax. I just finished doing the "practice" one for 2004. I noticed that Tuition paid is used against your total taxable income to bring your balance owing down or to 0.

Theres also a section where you can carry forward unused tuition amounts to future years. But how now do I add that future amount on my 2005 tax return? I saw there was a box at the top of the Tuition form for a previous years "Notice of Assessment/Reassessment"... does that come to me in the mail after filing 2004?

I'm kinda confused here and want to get the most out of my tuition payments for future years when I potentiall will be owing tax and want to minimize it.

You have 5 years to evade tax before they come for you. Even if you made $0 you still have to file taxes.

I don't know the method of payment for you're Tuition. But if you paid for it from you're personal account, or bank loan, i know you can claim tax on it. I did that and i got back 33.4% on what i paid for me education. (33% no shit)

Pay a visite to the local Civic centre, or whatever you have in that part of Canada that deals with the submission of you're taxes. They will load up you're records on the spot and tell you what you need to. They will also tell you what you can take advantage of, cause in their eyes it's always fair.

Once you get the facts of you're situation, You'll need to find someone to do you're taxes for you. There is also software for the PC that does this, i don't know much about/ I've meaning to look into it.

Go to H&R Block or find someone cheaper then send the files through the mail, or drop them off yourself. It won't be long before you recieve you're happy checks.
