Does Walmart sell Inferior Products

I don't mind Sony. I like Playstation and PSP, and the only other Sony product I've had was a TV we bought when I was like 5, and it still works perfectly.

What are you guys buying that work so horridly from Sony? Granted, I don't buy everything they release and only buy shit I actually need, but I've never experienced Sony having bad stuff. Then again, my experience with Sony is limited, but yeah.

Laptops, back a while ago. Today isn't as bad since the competition is quite high.

And back when MP3 Players were the rage, sony and their own unique formats .... grrrr :shok:

I read an article in like Forbes or something that showed a side by side Ipod that was sold at wal mart and one from Best Buy. the insides were completely different with the wal mart version being the cheaper mats of the 2. The article said they did this with random products and concluded that there IS a difference hence the reason wally world can offer a lower price on most of their items. Take it for what its worth. I think the article was entitled 'You Get What You Pay For' but I'm not 100% on that.

A lot of the bigger retail chains have at least one knock-off brand that's basically an "inhouse" knock-off. I know best buy has one, I know Fry's has one, I would not be surprised that Wal-mart has one too. They are junk, period. "You get what you pay for" is a very accurate phrase; the only exception being buying something at a reduced price due to a sale, discontinuing, or some other reason. The cheaper stuff IS cheaper for a reason, because it's not as good as the more expensive stuff.

There are also the company's who will make a cheaper version of their own products and sell them to Wal-mart, some leave their name on it for the brand recognition. Henckel's knives is a great example of this. They're one of the best knife companies in the world, and they released some really cheap quality knives to places like target and walmart just to capitalize on their brand name. There are also other companies that have made brand new companies to sell their cheap-quality products, so that their main name isn't tarnished. Visio's one of those companies, it's Sony's shit company, hence why they suck so bad.

As for Sony themselves, their TV's are pretty good, especially when you get to the higher end. Yes, there is much better, but they usually cost a whole lot more and those companies aren't doing that well. Sony's audio, on the other hand, I wouldn't touch with a 20-foot pole. I get tons of customers who see a Sony HTIB or receiver and tell me how great it must sound, when it's a piece of shit and there's much better stuff for roughly the same price. I always laugh(sometimes with them right there) at the customers who tell me they have a "great sounding" home theater from Sony.

I really don't understand how people can't figure out that Sony audio devices are reformed fecal matter either. The audio quality is either crap, or the devices break extremely easily if it's a portable one.

my PSone is over 10 years old and works fine. My PS2 is about to turn 8 years old if i had to guess~ but it still works. My PS3 is 2 years old this march and it works fine~ My xbox 360 broke after 9 months~ this was the $500 box to. /sigh~

As for wal-mart~ there is a reason they have such cheap prices. Other than illegal immigrants working ther for not even minimum wage~ Mind you not all the workers, just enough that the government had to slap them with fines a few years back.

Does it bother you as much as me when you can not understand what the employee is saying to you? One would think being able to speak clearly would be a job must have.

Performing the labor assigned to you is the only job requirement they have. Being able to assist the customer is a plus.

When I was in the states I went to Wal-mart, and I've never experienced worse customer service ever.

As a matter of fact, most stores had horrible customer service. But Wal-mart was by far the worst. Not even the resturants had good customer service. I mean, really, you'd think they would at least try to be nice to get a good tip.

The only place I met nice employees were the Chinese-owned stores and Las Vegas.

It's been said before, but it's worth saying again: Don't go to Wal-mart.
I avoid the stores like the plague.

Speaking of the plague... watch how similar the spread of Wal-Mart is like a highly contagious virus (map is US only, but it still gets the point across): link

What's your point? Those aren't audio devices.

I don't think she was referring to them being audio devices. I'm thinking she was referring to "Everything Sony does is crap".

Other than some recent battery issues Sony had with laptop devices. Knowing all about the company I'd say Sony is one of the best at what they do. I'm not saying their products are indestructible, or the low end companies they own are good quality electronics. But Sony does have really good QC standards and on the wider scale, Sony products all have very high life expectancy.

Wal-Mart and Dollar stores sell the worst shit possible. People are so god-dam selfish and blind these days all they see is a price tag and wonder about how much more they can buy when saving that little bit of money.

Pay $7 for something good that will last ten years instead of buying $1 version every year for 10 years cause the thing is shit and breaks. Look at the large picture, don't be a dumb consumer who only cares about their own wallet.

Do chefs use plastic whisks? Or carpenters use hammers with plastic handles? Hell no, there is a reason why so why would you. Get something good, you are what you eat.

And as for name brands, buy it from a store where people know what the fuck the product is and not some part time zit faced teenager who has no clue about their own hormones let alone your stereo.
