2/6 fishing trips this afternoon and who should I see on deck?

I've killed him on blm before he's not so bad
 
the sword should still be valuable it's a random spawn and I guess people usually dont fish over in TAU
 
Just a minor nuisance is all, I remember hearing about people hunting him all the time, and now that I fish on the boats, he haunts them, joke is on him though, I got the fish I wanted anyway :P
 
is he stronger or as strong as the sea horror? and what does he drop?
 
He's a mini (greater?) Charbydis, strikes nearly as fast. Plus, who rides that boat anymore to get to the mire? :crazy:

Oh, also to clarify, Ace's Locket is dropped by Bloody Bones. It's Shark Necklace that he drops. (Latent of 3MP/tick -> 1HP regen)

Thanks for the clarification. I can't access FFXIclopedia at work, and I knew he dropped a necklace (one I dont normally see at that), and Ace's Locket stuck out.

My apologies for the misdirection.

Hmm.. I love that sword on my Cor. Machina killed it for me and we got both items.

I don't think the sword sucks, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Plus the sword is worth about 800k - 1 million last I checked.

You'd need more ranged acc than a ranger to do damage since your skill is much lower; so an archer's knife would be a better option. The price is mainly for the rarity. It doesn't suck, as it still provides useful stats, it's just easily replaceable with better options that are 1% of the price and difficulty to get.

so it's soloable under the time it takes from ship to reach nashmau? you said mini but then in () greater as in not sure in comparison to charbydis

I do not think it's soloable, for the time available anyway. I've witnessed 3 Japanese people got completely decked by it, all 3 were pretty pimped gear wise. The setup as NIN, DRG and a WHM I believe. They went down fairly fast. But there was the element of surprise as they seemed fiddly to get into "gear".

All I know is that his swings are comparable to Charbydis. I said mini initially to make the comparison, but realised that it might be more difficult than Charbydis so I put in brackets (greater). Sorry for the confusion.

However, in Rukenshin's blog/journal, he mentioned he duoed this NM on his SAM with a RDM. However, it is worth to note that this person has exceptional gear. Also, just to mention that this is where I got the info from, but I couldn't remember where at the time of posting in my previous post.
