So i bought the Total Vana Diel experience DVD-rom deal. the problem was i did not know it was the DVD rom till i tried to install it, and i dont have a DVD rom.....

ANYWAYS... it came with this friend download deal... so i am currently downloading that.

Can i just input the info from the game i bought, and use my old account, and be able to play just like normal?

thanks!

I believe the download thing is only for FFXI and none of the expansions. You can use your old ild/password on anything running FFXI (pc/ps2/360). The new serial numbers are for creating a brand new account with. I bought the DVD version just to have everything on one disc, but I still haven't used any of the new serial numbers.

so its not even Rise of Zilart? wierd....

but yeah i just want to be able to use this till i can get it on CD.... since i dont have a DVD drive.

you actualy need a DVD drive to read that disc? My friend bought that, and i dont think he has a DVD drive, but it installed just fine. I'll check with him.

Did you try useing the disc?

Well, CDROMs can't read DVDs ..., that's pretty much implied at this point.

To the OP, just pick up a DVD drive at your local whatever shop, even places like Fred Meyer's has them, 30 bucks or so.

It's simple to install man. Power off your system and pop open your case, look at the IDE cable and the power cable connected to your current CD-Drive. Pull them off. Remove the CD-Drive by just unscrewing the 4 screws holding it in. Look at the jumper on the back where the cables were plugged. It's a little plastic piece that covers two pins and tells whether the drive should be master, slave, or cable-select (cs). You'll want to set the jumper on your DVD-Drive to be the same. Then just screw it in, hook up the IDE cable and power supply, and you're done.
