I never said anything about that. I only mentioned how ironic it is that people jump out and call him a rasist for that pic, when it were obvious he only posted it in responce to this:
Oh and by the way, while most NA has now respected most JPs by not calling them JAP, the JPs have not abandoned the use of "gaijin" which i see it as bad as the usage of JAP to them. Respect culture? Sureee, only if the person deserves it.
It became even more obvious with the "Seriously though" comment following the pic.

Thank you again Uzor,
I like how you think about things before
posting.
Good for you(^^)

I didn't say I don't
care about this thread
anymore, but it's just pretty hard
to take seriously at this point.
Does anyone care about Raizon's drama?

Basically think about how rude the mog house guards in Sand'oreo speak to you.
That's what it means when a japanese person calls someone a gaijin essentially.

I always thought Gaijin meant foreigner...

For me, there's always been a difference in feeling that I've got when someone called me a gaijin because "gaikokujin" (外国人) is more formal, and in literal terms, is a "person from an outside country" where "gaijin"(外人) feels more derrogatory like calling someone a foreigner or outsider.

Which reminds me something my teacher had told me, how Japanese people, mostly older generations, woud use the word "gaijin" to describe other Japanese that had been outside the country for some amount of time and become westernized. They were seen as outsiders and treated differently, so being sent out to other countries on buisiness was both a blessing and a curse.

Well, it makes sense. Japan as a country were closed to outsiders until the American navy threatened to attack them unless they opened their harbors for trading, no?

In my old country of Scotland we refer to the english south of us as Sasannach's its a friendy poke at our southern neighbours but I could see it being taken wrongly as offensive.

Do i look like a bastokan to you? I actually know of the invention of soap.

I can honestly say this has been one of the better reads on QCDN in a while. Nice to see a Japanese pov on a topic that I myself find so interesting. I, in the past have checked Raiz and got the spamming checks and angry looking faces those japanese keyboards can produce. I was also called a "NA Cherry boy" by her/him which gave me a good laugh.

I would like to know exactly what that japanese client says when you check someone. I understand it's something to the effect of "insert char name here" stares at you intently yadda yadda... Which sounds kind of intense for something so simple from my point of view. "so and so examines you" is pretty lax and non invasive sounding I think.

All and all it for sure comes down to Raiz is crazy, and every culture no matter how proud always has defective members who can soil someones image of another group of people.

The word Gaijin is actually blocked by filter for some reason in the game, when i was chatting in ls and use the word Gaijin, my ls mates said "what is the ?????? you are typing". =p

And doesn't JAP also means JAPANESE? Oh yea, it's derrogatory to them, riggghtt... So what's the term Gaijin is? /sarcasm

If america was going to attack Japan, the Navy would be the least of their worries.

P.S. I'm still wondering what the racial slur was/ment.

Sneaky:
if all you can do is tell people
to shut up on a forum, why don't
you be the first one to try?(^ -)
Srsly.

@person below me
Gaijin is a somewhat slang
version of GaiKokuJin [3 kanji]
meaning[completely literal] Outside,kingdom,person

Gaijin has several different meanings,
every society is different. I really don't know
what to tell you.
@ haters:
I'm not here to make you more
comfortable with 'japanese culture' anymore.
Do what sneaky said.

well, you shoud distinguish between japanese culture and japanese society... and this thread is going to be 'too much' of everything... enough is enough.

I like Japan, I studied Modern Japanese, I was in Japan and I loved it. Still some behaviour is just unacceptable.

Fact is Gaijin is a kind of slang but often used in a negative way. And there is no need to deny this. Japanese people in general still think of themselves as better people than people from other countries. Look at the percentages of the foreigners in Japan. I dont know the acutal number, but in 2004 it was under 5%. And look how foreigners in Japan (esp. when they are from Asia like the zainichi) are threatened...
Don't get me wrong, I love Japan, I really do, its a wonderful country, it has wonderful people, but just stop fucking denying everything negative about you... this is so fucking annoying me, really. They fucking deny everything negative about them... Germany has to crawl every year and begging how sorry we are for what happened in WW2 and at school they teach us for 4 years how evil Germany is and that we have to beg for forgiveness as often as we can. And Japan is still denying most of the things... thats annoying me so much. Learn to take responsibility for things you do and don't find stupid excuses...

Seriously, its enough. We should more care about the acutal person who is behaving crap and not the whole country. <.<
I had bad experiences with almost every nationality that plays this game <.<
We know Raisondetre is a stupid bitch, we also know that Japanese like Burt (who helped me with stuff a few times) is a very nice person.

This is getting lame <.< really. I want the old great flameboard back <.< and this thread was good at Good times but now just fails <.<
Meh and my back still hurts, I am getting old <.<
Disregard my grammatical and other mistakes... I R GERMAN and cant write properly :)
